cardenas1 - 2012-10-01 2:50 PM So they can sell more jerseys.   That is another thread, but I really dont get the idea of an adult walking around with another persons name on their back.

so do you wear Calvin Kline or Ralph Lauren???

If you are comparing a 1/2 inch logo on the front of a shirt to the example above, I guess I do but the comparison is a pretty far stretch.   And I wasnt talking about a team shirt, hat or other merchanidise you wear to a game, etc.   I am specifically talking about a Jersey of a player with their name on the back.  Listen, they wouldn't sell if there weren't people buying them.   I just think you either do or you dont.   Not much in between.   Ask a woman her opinion.   I think you will find just as many who would say not to embarress them at the next game by wearing it as you would who say "where's mine?"   To each there own.

I don't really get it either.

I know it isn't really the same since I actually know the athletes, but some of my friends won a bronze medal in women's team pursuit at the Olympics. I was yelling so hard at the computer screen watching the bronze medal match. I even banged on the table quite a few times. I've never experienced that before when watching sports and I thought, okay, this is how a sports fanatic must feel. I never referred to them as we though.

bradleyd3 - 2012-10-01 4:26 PM I worked for 4 professional sports teams....and still felt weird about using "we" or "us" in conversation in talking about the team. Sure I was a part of it and worked in a capacity where I was with the players but still felt strange in using the terms. I understand why people use the terms.....it's being a part of something. But....for tonight....I'll use the word we.....cuz "we" about to lay the smack down on the bears.

How did that work out for "you"?Tongue out
