Champion 14571 the alamo city, Texas | Subject: RE: Presidential Debate GomesBolt - 2012-10-03 11:07 AM Great game idea Mehaner. I don't think I can play because I'm riding my bike home/to work tomorrow. And because I have 1 beer left in the apartment which will be woefully insufficient to play such a game. Maybe I'll do 5 push-ups for every "Jobs", "look", and "taxpayer" mention. I'm gonna be hurting. Over/Under on number of actual answers to questions by either candidate (ie not a sound bytes) I say 5. umm...pushup idea is even better than drinks idea! we are all going to be so strong by tomorrow! |

Champion 18680 Lost in the Luminiferous Aether | Subject: RE: Presidential Debate GomesBolt - 2012-10-03 1:44 PM WOW! Do we finally have a political thread where everyone is in agreement? The Debates are not in-fact debates, they're just chances for people to not answer questions and hit each other with zingers and chances for FoxNews/MSNBC/CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC to cherry-pick sound-bytes to make their preferred candidates sound better than the other. Please disagree, because I fear the end of the world if this is really a political thread on COJ where everyone agrees with everything... Somebody throw out some toxic sound-byte that will send us off on our rants...Please, for the kids! *raises hand* I will disagree just for the general principle of being disagreeable. Will this work?

Extreme Veteran 3177 | Subject: RE: Presidential Debate I was just talking to my wife about the debates this morning. My big issues with them is, as has been mentioned, no one really answers the questions asked of them directly. it kids of pisses me off when they go off tangent! the only good thing for the debates is we can see how the candidates perform currently on a national stage in front of the public. It can give a good idea of how they will appear to and work with national and international delegates/people. |

I am shocked but pleased. The only thing I'd give Obama is that he did a decent job of explaining how the voucher system would push healthy people towards the private plan and sick people towards medicare. Other than that, Romney's pwning face. |
