I will make sure to go to Cord or Daniel and make sure I join their army. Since I speak Spanish, and the Hispanic population of this country is growing (and thus the Zombie population make-up), a person that can translate spanish grunts will always be useful.

You're welcome to tag along. Be able to carry your own weight is all I'd ask.

We have reserve water and food and I keep a "get home bag" in my car.

That bag has been used so often it has paid for itself 100 times over.  Seems I'm always at places, picnics, softball games, beach days, just normal days and someone says: "does anybody have 'X'?"

And inevitably I have "X" in my get home bag. (rope, first aid kit, knife, hatchet, tape...)

Your "get home bag" sounds like a murder kit! Surprised

The "..." Stands for "bleach, tarp, coffee grounds (to cover the smell for the dogs)."

I assume the quicklime is a given, then.

Load up the wife and dog in the truck and head for the hills.

If I hadn't lost all my guns in that unfortunate canoe accident last month I would take them and plunder what I needed for supplies.

Don't forget the MTBs. Those would come in real handy when all the gas is gone.

What kind of vehicle would you steal/acquire?As much as I like my Tacoma, it gets bad mileage and has a tiny gas tank. I'd say a F150. Or hybrid GMC.

I'm pretty sure you only have to worry about anarchy in the UK, but if we had a zombie outbreak I'd find a small town in the mountains & barricade myself inside a supermarket & wait for cold temperatures.  If I'm in the mountains I only have to make it to september or so.  Since they're dead and have no body heat I just have to wait until the temps get below freezing at night & then I can just head out an whack 'em at will while they're frozen in place.  Since it's a small town there shouldn't be too many of them.  Once all the local zombies are taken care of I can just hang out until order is reestablished.  Maybe get some skiing in.

I think I would stick with my current vehicle. 06 Dodge 2500 with a Cummins. 30+ gallon tank and the cummins will use anything from vegetable oil to used motor oil to run on.

And we all know Dodge Ram's are indestructible after what it lived through in Twister!

I'm a helicopter pilot

It doesn't matter if you can or cannot "get there" by ground vehicle.

I wouldn't need to go out for quite a while in any case and then could have literally my choice of where to shop for a vehicle.

Jet-A, Jet-A1, Hell, even 100LL would work and are all available at pretty much any airfield. Kerosene lasts quite a while (that's what avgas is, just really pure kerosene)

Is that your MO?  Bring up a good point and then follow it with an insult to who you are responding to?  I'm curious why you often do that.  You offer compelling information then offend them which probably results in a shut down of them even considering your point and turns it into a defensive situation.

If you look, there are some that I disagree completely with that have not had that response at all.

If you ask or make a statement in a manner looking for or even suggesting you're open to discourse, I'll answer in kind. Generally it's the holier-than-thou posts that I really don't care how I come across answering. Look in this thread for examples both ways.

So, yeah, it is actually you more often than not

For a zombie apocalypse I like my local Costco.

  1. Food and supplies including tools, clothes, medical and medication.
  2. Not only gas but propane and plenty of oil to make bio diesel
  3. My local Costco is fortified with brick walls, gated doors, and all entrances have surveillance.
  4. Has gone green with solar panels on the roof so can have basic necessities still have power.
  5. Plenty of room indoors to roam and ride a bike or run (Rule #1)
  6. Not allowed to carry weapons on the premises so the workers will not be able to stop me from taking over.

Guess you just have to hope no out of staters show up with their 30 round mags. Clearly with your much less deadly 10 round mags you will lose that fight.

I changed my mind.  I'll look for a Costco in the mountains.  Or even Super Target would be fine.

Big Appa - 2013-03-15 11:35 AM a zombie apocalypse/major event that shuts down government and anarchy is rampant?

Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil "Sorry." grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
