Crap, I was sick all weekend, no riding whatsoever, managed to squeeze in a whopping 10 miles yesterday, man I have some serious catching up to do. Time to hit the bike, I believe I have about 592 miles left now!!! Time to put my money where my mouth is. |

Really needed this incentive to get out and ride, I know I would have blown off several rides without the challenge. |

Resident Curmudgeon 25290 The Road Back Gold member | Subject: Weekend Plans (If I put them in writing, I just might stick to them) Plan is to ride 30 today, 40 tomorrow, and, including my race, 50 miles Sunday. That will put me at 450, needing 250, with 14 days to go. I know I heve evening meetings scheduled two of those days, so I'll still have to average over 20 per day for the rest of the month and hope for no rainouts. |

I am still going to press on and see what I can do, should be able to break the 600 mark. |

I don't know about anyone else but i don't know if I am going to make it. It will be close though. I mean a couple days of rain, an injury, a sickness, and there goes 700 down the drain. Veteran 262 Shelby Twp, MI | Subject: RE: July 700 Mile Challenge! Just hit 540 today leaving 160 to go. Also fell off bike in the process, leaving several layers of skin on the tarmac. Ouch! Sweaty left hand slipped of bars while taking a drink. From now on I will always wear gloves on EVERY ride. Up to now I was wearing gloves on road and MTB, but going bare handed on tri bike. Not any more, a painful lesson learned. |
