1) What did we do to tick him off?

2) Does he have nuclear warheads?

3) Can his warheads reach the United States?

Thanks!

1) Nothing. He is trying to show his country how tough a leader he is and if he gets his butt kicked by the US, we'll give him lots of money to rebuild his country.
Oh, we did side with S Korea 60ish years ago and he's still pissed about that.

2) Yes but probably only one. He has a nuke breeder reactor that can create the right stuff to make one but it will take about 6 months or so to demothball and is easily cruise missiled.

3) Not even close and they're about as accurate as a knuckleball. He'll end up hitting China or Japan if he launches anything and doesn't immediately hit an ocean or sea.

Yeah most of his rhetoric is to boost his tough-guy image to his people. It seems he's overcompensating for his shortcomings by showing off his alleged nukes.

He is doing pretty much what his father and grandfather did in the past.  Fortunately, they knew how far they could push without starting a war (although they have technically been at war since the '50s).  The uncertainty lies with whether the new guy knows when to back-off.  Unless he has a way of dragging the U.S. several thousand miles further west, there is no chance his wobbly missiles will reach us.  Luckily for me, I heard that the officials in Austin are prepared - there must be some sort of defense shield I don't know of.

He doesn't have to actually hit mainland US. We've got a pact with S Korea so all he has to do is punch them in the nose to get the US's attention.

Again, huh?

They've had cross border skirmishes since the '50s. high explosives on a ship or similar isn't going to start much of anything.

Now a rocket into Seoul is a different story.

Thing is, he won't use them on those countries.

China would just turn NK into dust and if you look at the history of Japan towards the Chinese and Koreans during war time you see why it's not such a hot idea to launch anything at them.

South Korea they would rather reconcile with and move all the resources to NK and "share" the wealth of the Koreas.

But the US will rebuild all of NK and will give the people food and clothing etc if he annoys us.

So, we get threatened with nukes and videos like this published in NK about what American life is all about:

FWIW, there are no State Dept. travel advisories for S. Korea at this point (though they did post an updated advisory about travel to N. Korea last month, are you listening Mr. Rodman?).

I'd be more concerned if they were recommending that families of US servicemen and non-combatants in South Korea should think about leaving.

John Kerry has a trip to China coming up.  I can imagine him descretely asking: "Are you OK if we pre-emptively take out North Korea's reactors and missile sites, with maybe a few JDAMS aimed at the Kid.  If not, what would you agree to?"  Their response will frame whatever course of action we pursue.

Dunno, I speak enough Korean to get my face slapped and find a bathroom.
I've seen much worse propaganda and this one's not even outside the realm of probable and that makes it even funnier.

I'm positive the voice over translating is a real voice, though.

(edit) Oh I see what you're talking about. No, it's not US specific but that is an actual propaganda film about western culture and does say a lot of what this version says.

Here's the "offical" translation:

Published on Mar 1, 2013

Here is a rough translation:
"In capitalist societies of America and Europe, the extreme gap between the rich and the poor, racism, chaos and disorder proliferate, leaving the workers in starvation, poverty, anxiety and fear. Amid snowstorms, the number of homeless people are increasing in the Western countries. Numerous Americans who lost their homes from Hurricane Sandy are still without homes, shivering in the cold for more than three months. Although American government promised to reconstruct the homes before the election, it no longer cares after the election is over. In Wisconsin, although the temperature is below negative 10 Celsius, many homeless people roam the streets, some of whom became homeless recently because they could not afford the soaring rent. America currently has more than 1.5 million homeless children.

The situation is also very grave in Europe, which is also hit by severe cold. In Bucharest, Romania, the homeless people line up early in the morning to receive just a piece of bread from charities. The 5,000 homeless people of Bucharest survive by rummaging through the trash. All of them say that during the socialist times, there was no one who was without a home. More than 300 die from the cold and related illness every winter. The same is true in Budapest, Hungary. The homeless shelters are so full that many have to resort to cardboard boxes and ragged blankets. Although the homeless lie exposed in front of tourists, the government cannot do anything. Hundreds of homeless people roam the public spaces of Budapest. The government built two new shelters in Budapest, but they are not nearly enough to house the rapidly increasing homeless population.

The foreign press say that although Western countries speak of welfare programs and civilization, the wealth gap, inequality and the nation's apathy toward the social weak are incurable diseases of capitalism.
Social anxiety and fear are peaking in America as mass murders with guns are occurring rampantly since the new year. [Lists off Sandy Hook, Aurora, shooting in a high school in California, a community college in Missouri, a 15-year-old boy in New Mexico killing his five family members.] Although the criminals are diverse in age, occupation, gender, etc., they are uniformly a product of America's inequality and other social ills. The American public's demand of gun control is louder than ever, but the NRA and weapons manufacturers bribe and pressure the key governmental officials from responding to the public demand. After President Obama announced a new gun control law, the protests for and against the new law are sweeping across America. Experts say that even if the guns are controlled, crimes will not stop unless America's extreme inequality, variety of social ills and the American system itself are changed completely."
