When Its Impossible to go forward anymore, Don't laugh Its darn near   happened, had to try and find a zig zag course and avoid direct headwind as much as I could to make it back Home. One of the slowest rides of last season and I quite literally crawled off the bike when I did get back. I believe it was 30MPH  steady out of the north with Gusts to 50, the Out leg was wicked fast though.Smile

I hate the wind, but here in Kansas you get use to it. Kinda.

Yesterday going north... averaged 28-31mph no problem.... going south... 10-12mph...

Wind makes for a better workout. It gives you a chance to work on bike handling skills. I think I *might* draw the line for hurricanes and tornadoes but not just high winds.

I rode in an organized metric century this past weekend and heard several riders complain about the wind. All I could do was smile while thinking how lucky we are to be able to do this!

I got to race a 64 mile road race in Walla Walla Washington yesterday in crazy gusty winds. Since I don't get to control the weather, I take what I get.

I am guilty as hell of this. but fair is fair, the other dudes were obviously either doing the same thing or pacelining those segments. the only ones that really count are climbs cat 3 and above.

I think this is debatable. My more windier rides are not what I would call "quality" workouts. But I'm probably doing it wrong Tongue out
