Made me remember why I like riding out doors so much. Beautiful morning with a beautiful sunrise. 13 miles left me feeling sore, but energized. You sound like me, I just needed to get outside finally! |

Extreme Veteran 968 Cape Coral, FL | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open News update. Just walked in from the doctor. The swelling is gone and I can start back up. My tendonitis is acting up so I am not doing anything for a week or so while I stretch it out and fix it. He said the tightness is just a tendon issue and I will be fine just take it slow and as I build it will get better. Is it because we are in the staging area that I can toggle on notification when people post? |

Extreme Veteran 968 Cape Coral, FL | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open Well Yoga class didn't happen today but that's fine. Headed to the pool later. It's a done deal on the 4 for the week. Today will be 3 and I have stroke refinement this weekend. I may head out for a walk/run tomorrow since BT coach thinks it will loosen up the tendon and keep it from getting stiff if I take it easy. Rus - that kind of avatar will get you extra super duper bonus points with David and the others. I never got a chance to say welcome.....so I will now....welcome |

About mile 1 the darn knee started hurting.i thought I had rested enough but guess not.well I did finish the ride anyway and the further I got into the ride the less it hurt. Of course now sitting at my office desk it hurts. > maybe it just doesn't like sitting still... |

Now it's a matter of getting back in shape and building back up. That's one of the things I like about endurance - your floor is my ceiling. My tempo 5k was around an 8:00 flat pace, with an average heart rate north of 175. **** Went riding with one of my friends, who is a Cat 5 cyclist. 37ish miles, 2:20, 15.5mph pace, and a lot of work at/near LTHR. I feel great now, and I'm sporting a nice set of chainring gashes on my left calf, which I didn't notice at the time, and only realized it was there when I was showering and I rubbed the "grease" off only to find a goodly amount of blood flowing. Fun times. |

Oh did I mention ice already? Remember what Charles said...2 full days after 100%. Personally I like to give myself more but once bitten twice shy for me. |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open So' I'm tapering for my sprint this weekend and nursing a sore knee. I got in a good trail run yesterday and a swim that turned out to be a little painful. I started to feel the pain on the first lap in my left shouldier. I've been swimming for a while and never felt anything like this. The pain wasn't intense - it was just different. I thought it might be that I hadn't warmed up (although I had run first) so I stopped to stretch. That didn't help. I tried to think if I had hurt it recently and couldn't remember anything. In fact - it had felt great over the weekend. So the only thing I could think of was that my chiro visit the day before and knocked something out of whack. Question - has this ever happened to you? Its the only thing I can think of. |

Expert 1662 Spokane, WA | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open I'm super pumped. It looks like I may be back in business for my Grand Columbian HIM distance tri in September. I'd originally thought it wouldn't work with kid #3 and my hip, but the hips on the mend and my wife is o.k. with it, so it looks like it's a go. It's in mid September, so I still have time to train for it. Now I just have to finish up grad school and schedule a snip-snip, and It'll be back to training! I had a buddy's home brewed imperial IPA this weekend. It's only sat for a couple months, so it hadn't fully aged, but it was still pretty darn good. Can't wait to try in a month or so. David, what exactly happens when you let it sit for longer? How does that improve on the flavor? |

New user 10 Streamwood, IL | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open Last nights ride was great, upped the pace quite a bit over just about the same distance. I have a little more confidence in my knee, so I was able to push more. No ill effects. Then I helped a coworker move a filing cabinet this morning, and tweeked my hamstring. What the eff.... Pretty tired of always hurting myself. Had a Smuttynose IPA last night. Damn, that stuff is tasty! |
