What kind of training plans are people using? I'm using one from Fitzgerald's Week by Week Training Guide - one for oly distance, level 3 (out of 10).

The plan calls for two of each sport/week, but I'm thinking about moving to the level 4 which moves me to 9 workouts a week (3/3/3). I really need the swim workouts!

I am attempting to follow the BT intermediate program for an Oly race. Now all I need is to be injury free and have the time to get back at it again

I just reserved a room at the Fairfield Inn for the night before the race.  10 minutes from race site.  Free Continental breakfast.    I am taking in roommate.  Anyone?

Female.  Does my back look like a man's?  Laughing

There are 2 beds in the room.  And floor space....

Are there any plans for Sat eve of Cranberry this year. My family would like me to go to the Lowell Spinners game that evening, but if there is a big shin dig, I will attempt on going to that instead. As of right now, I will be going down the morning of the race, but that could change if people are getting together.

No carpooling this time?  You can always come in late on Saturday night, after the Spinners game.  Maybe we can join c2fd on his annual-mid-night-drive-around-the-bike-course routine.

It would be fun to do a something Saturday night. How about meeting at a local restaurant. I'm not sure I'm up to doing something at my house again this year.

Patty knows the area and made some suggestions.

How about we look around for a local place and try to get something early. What time is registration over? Do it right after that.

What do you think? Ideas?

I think I'm going to go for it - though I almost didn't make the 400 yd swim last week in a sprint.
Does anyone know if the bar-b-que after the event will have any vegetarian options? My hubbie eats no animal products and my kids don't do mammals.
Part of me wants to leave them home as I really like just getting into my own space. If food is only meat that would tip the scales a bit. My kids 8 & 9.5 like to really get in my face and cheer me on etc, and then I feel a need to interact and respond to their attempts to cheer me on.

Don't I sound ungrateful!

MM, not sure about the alternative food types. I do have some advice though. If you bring them, you will not have to drive the car home if you have a tough time at the race. If you bring them, you may have a tough time socializing at one of the biggest N.E. BT races of the year. Depending on the turn out, Moosman and Timberman could be bigger, but Cranberry has a long following on BT. Hope this helps.

I remember salad, grilled chicken and veggie burger - I believe it was veggie burger.  Never had one before that and I thought that burger taste dry/grainy and not like meat.  But as it was my first oly last year, I was too tired and hungry to figure out its identity.

Another option is bring your own food/beer etc.  Only the athletes get free food afterall.  Spectators will have to pay for the BBQ.

Ontherun:  so looks like it will be like last year.  Holiday Inn ran out of the discount room so I got a reservation from next door - the Fairfield Inn.  Are you still going to the Spinners game ?  Or is carpool an option?

The day before Cranberry my family and I have been invited to a clambake at a friend's house in Falmouth, but it's not until 5:00pm so I'm not sure if I'm going to attend.  I'm spending the night at a relative's house in Bridgewater, but keep me posted on the Saturday night plans and I may be able to catch up with you all.

I am not familiar with the area, but a pre-race carb-loading dinner won't hurt.

We have talked about meeting at a local restaraunt. I can coordinate if there is interest which I think there is.

I'll check it out when I'm there tomorrow.

Let's plan on dinner Saturday at 5:15 if that works for most of us...registration on Saturday is 12-5pm.

I'm going down there again Friday to swim with my tri team and will ask around for location suggestions and investigate more and post where to meet over this weekend.

If you know you are going to come, post here with how many so I have an idea of the count.

Kathy, I wish I knew the name of the Italilan place I ate two years ago, but I do know where it is . I was staying at the hotels by the rt 44 rotary. The first exit from the hotels goes to the camp, the second goes to the Italian place. The food was very good. Hope that helps.
