Do we need to bow when we type messages to you? Is there a special title we need to use when addressing you? Highness? Majesty? Top Shelf?

Ok, for some reason this table keeps showing up with a ton of space before it, but anyway there you go. Take a look and let me know if you have any changes!

Hi, I'm Katherine from Manchester, NH.  My goals for the challenge are to complete 20 hours this month.  I'm going for hours vs. miles as I'm (still) recovering from a badly twisted ankle and I'm striving for consistent workouts vs. a set mileage amount.  I'm entering my fourth season of triathloning, having just wrapped up my first Half Iron, which painfully pointed out my running inadequacies.  My goals for training this winter are consistency and injury prevention.  I started 2007 with a broken left foot and ended with a chipped bone and twisted right foot, so as long as I can being next training season with more mileage under my belt, I'll be happy.

Why I should be able to complete my goal: I have the time to devote to running more (no kids yet, work slowing down just a bit).  Obstacles to success: soreness from injury, travelling a bit this month for vacation (to Savannah - its warm - I'll have no excuses).

My overall goal is to learn to love how I run as much as I enjoy swimming and cycling.  I don't want to lose as many positions on the running leg next year.  I position myself in the top 25% during the swim, at 50% of the pack when riding, and the lower 25% when running, so I'd like to change that.

Way to go, Katherine.  Hours goals are perfectly acceptable.  Good luck staying injury free!  Are you doing ankle exercises & stuff?

Since you seem like such nice people, here's some nice doughnuts for you. Eat lots, OK?

Who is this dude, and why is he visiting our thread?

I mean, are any of you visiting HIS thread?  No.  You are all too busy running.

And it's not about how many or how few donuts we eat. It's about meeting our stated goals.

Hmmm, can we change our goals to be say eat 1 donut per day for the month?

Increases are acceptable.  Though I'm not sure Cat meant THAT kind of increase, my take is, as long as it does not stop you from running your 95 miles, it sounds good.

I'll pass on the donut, as I have a dark chocolate habit to support instead.

Opps, got that wrong, should be a reply to Citysky's comment

Good morning everyone. What's everyone's running plan for the rest of the week? If we know what you plan to do then it'll be easier to encourage you.

Mine - Monday 4 miles done; Wednesday 6 miles done; Saturday or Sunday 10 miles.

And Queen/Your Highness/Top Shelf AnnaBanana (sp?) please put me down for 6.1 miles today.

Whoohoo Ken...double digits already!

Today is a longer run, my usual route is 4 miles, but I'm going to try for 6 if my poor broken toe will take me. It's the baby toe, it only hurts when I wear shoes :-) Been 3.5 weeks so far and I'm over it.

So...will report back soonest! How's the rest of the gang?

Are there a few we haven't heard from yet - maybe take a minute to inspire those you haven't seen too much of - GO BLACK MAGIC!!!

Brittany, you rock.

My plan for today is to run with my blind friend, Liz.  I'm her guide runner.  That will be run/walk about 2 miles at the track.  If she doesn't make it 2 miles, I'll fill in the rest while she's stretching.

Thursday-Sunday

Medium run, WITH strides per giantsrbest's suggestion, 45 minutes, probably Thurs. morning.  Track workout, probably Friday afternoon.  No runs sat/sun.

Everything together, including the long run I've already done, should total 14-15 by the end of the week - whew!!!
