Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Running - Distance Team C Happy New Year and Hello Everyone, I do not see my name on this list, but I believe that I am on your team. My name is Julie and I live in SF bay area. I am a newbie in all aspects. I have never raced in a tri, I have never competed in a challenge. I am a retired mountain bike racer who likes to run and is planning on joining a local masters swim team. I also recently retired from playing ultimate frisbee on a co-ed team that would travel around the world and play. If you have never played or seen a game it is LOTS and LOTS of running....so, even though I let myself get WAAAAAAY out of shape, I think that I have a competitive edge and look forward to my first challenge in BT. Here are some possible team names: Smell you later Chafed and lubed We've got the runs Twisted Blisters Will run for beer Dead Ones Running Shut your pie-hole and RUN The Runs The Trots Speed Racers Toe Jammers Lets go TEAM C! |

I ran 2 miles this morning (an easy run, per my training plan) - I have a 5 mile tempo run tomorrow. (2/67) I'm happy to see the new folks here - welcome. Don't let Beth, or Hector, or Dee, or me scare you. We're addicted to BT, but we're really quite harmless. This will be a fun month! |

Master 1870 Fort Worth | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Running - Distance Team C Hello Everyone and Happy New Year! Sorry I haven't been around, I had a real busy weekend on top of being sick. Ok enough of all that, first things first! I nominate Beth as our team captain as she has already gotten our group rolling in the right direction. Anyone second that motion? About me: I am a short/midget looking troll who's knuckles drag the ground and a rough skin covered with moles (Sorry this is the intro to the dating site) LOL. Actually I'm a active duty military guy of 23 years living with my wife (20 years) and youngest son of 17 (soon to be 18). I run an inflatable jumper business on the weekends and full time school in the evening starting on the 7th of Jan. Additionally my training schedule usually exceeds 2 hours a day hence no more team captain positions for me. What are my aspirations as far as triathlon? I completed my first tri in November and have focused on the Superseal (international/Oly) in April followed by Vineman 70.3 in July. My plan is to complete a full Ironman in 2009. In the last several months during these challenges I have completed a 5k, 1/2 marathon and a sprint distance triathlon. All of which I have been motivated by my BT friends. Hence I am a BT'er for life. Pause for effect / catch breath Lastly, I look forward to another great challenge, getting to know all of you and more importantly motivating each other. Go team! (What ever our name is) Did I miss anything Beth? |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Running - Distance Team C ahhh. good ol' hectors back. good good. i LOVE the team name suggestions, i was actually laughing out loud, no joke! i liked shut your pie hole and run, and the runs, i can't remember all of them, but they were great. i didn't run this morning, i was GOING to, but i walked out of the house, and fell down the stairs!! not injured, except i bruised my.....landing pad. so anyway, i decided it was a TAD too icy to try running. i know i know, totally lame excuse!! i'm such a slacker. tomorrow i'll take the car up to some better plowed roads, and get a couple miles in. promise. ETA- chafed and lubed, that was the one that cracked me up. i liked twisted blister too. Edited by lyssa-gator 2008-01-01 3:05 PM |

I had lousy connectivity while I was away for the holidays, so I couldn't really respond. I am notarunnr...don't get nervous, I am psyched for this challenge. aka Tam I am a mother of three: 14, 11, and 6. I did my first tri in September 2007. I have been a competitive swimmer since I was little, and have always biked, and have always hated running! I am actually rehabbing a damaged IT band, and am on a predetermined running plan so I am only in for 20 miles this month, and that is followed by a big IF the leg continues to do well. Since I have been told I have to cut back on the running, it's all I want to do, so I am psyched to meet this challenge. How about January Jackrabbits for the team name?
Go Team.......whatever. |
