Hey guys!  Please don't freak out, I leave for vacation tomorrow and will be out of running commission until the 15th.  I built the time off into my goal for the month.  But if we're really sneaky, we can just let the rest of the teams think I'm behind.

As for introductions, I'm starting to train for my first marathon, so lots of running time for me.  When I'm not running, I'll be skiing on my days off.  I teach ski lessons on the weekends and am currently working towards my PSIA Level I cert.

Bluejack - 2008-01-02 8:07 AM Most folks are off to a good start!  Let me know if my daily pep inspires annoy you and I'll leave you off my list.  The rest of the teams can't stop us AND they can't hope to contain us either!  Monkeeeeyyyyssss HO!

pep inspires are good!

for some reason I keep wanting to start singing

Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing running
To put anybody down.

LOLOL!

Keep up the inspires Cap'n!

No mile repeats for me today -- too much snow on the track and no way I'm getting on a treadmill while the sun is shining   Snowshoe run instead -- veeeeeerrrrrryyyyy sloooooowly.  Which is why I'm on the running time rather than distance team!  Got an hour in which makes me very late for work but we gotta have priorities....  And I'm posting my workout rather than showering right now

Go Monkeys!!

Welcome to all!

I am working myself back into it after taking off 5-6 weeks after my last race last year.  Put on 12-15 pounds in that break and the Christmas/New Year's season.  I am taking it slow and building gradually though out the year with a goal of 'becoming a runner' this year.  My biggest target for January is to hit all my schedules runs for the time frame prescribed.  In the past, I have frequently missed or shortened my long runs and as such didn't reach my potential in my "A" and "A-" races last year.  I don't want that to happen ever again.  I have a goal of a season ending marathon - just when that will be, I haven't quite decided, either Sept 21 or Oct 19.

Good luck everyone and lay the foundation for a successful 2008!

Hey Team FCMotFCT - ok, maybe we should just go by the name "Monkeys"

Just as a quick introduction, my name is Betsy and I'm a former rower and recent college graduate. I'm still new to BT and triathlons, in general. I've decided to do the running-time challenge because running is my weakest event and I'd like to change that! At this point, running is fun for me because I've been noticing regular improvement.

Oh, and just as a warning, I usually won't be posting until late at night (west coast time), but you will be hearing from me!

Monkeys! Stop reading posts now - get outside and run! Go! Umm...sorry, I'm not usually that bossy...it just sort of, came out.

I always knew you took the low key approach

40 min on the treadmill. In Philly for a convention...sure wish I had a gym at home like the Marriotts...NICE.
