Once we finalize the spreadsheet I will start up the thread!

Are we making teams or no? If so, how do I make the spreadsheet behave accordingly?

So crushers - we have only a few days left until January! Are we still following through with the previously discussed plan? (The 1 point for 20 mins activity, 1 point for 7+ fruit/veg...) I would volunteer to post it up but I'm afraid my ability to create a spreadsheet and get it onto the BT challenge area is questionable. I can start the thread!

I can work on a simple spreadsheet but I have a question. For the activity points, would you rather key in the number of minutes and have it calculate the points or should we let people calculate their own points? I was thinking about copying the CWWC spreadsheet for a starting point and have a column for fruit/veggie points and another for activity. Or should I just have one column for points? What are your thoughts peoples?

The spreadsheet I set up has three columns per week: a) Minutes of activity b) total fruits/veggies c) Points assigned -- which is automatically calculated. There are 4 sets of columns. One for each week. The final column sums up all the points for the month. https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tpa5iZ6XoKc4GxdRCYPtniA&...

for the fellow Crushers ... as far as teams go, nah, we are a team. However, I believe it is in the spirit of the Crushers that we are open to all. This is encouraged of all challenges on BT although there are often personal one-on-one or specific-group challenges.

Decide how you want to organize it, first. The spreadsheet can be set up afterwards, to match the "rules" of the challenge.

In other words, don't worry about making the spreadsheet "behave."

I see my awesome PT next Tuesday....in the meantime I am going to be conservative.

Cannot risk another 14 weeks of keester sitting, I would go insane if I did!!

I love the spreadsheet! Thanks for putting this together!

I think that we should have a third category... just because 2 feels so naked. Any suggestions? Maybe 1 point for every junk food free day?

Couple things:  Are we doing 1 point for each 7 f&v or for every day you hit 7 f&v?  If per day we need to change that column but i think 1 point per 7 is better.  I do think we need a category or 2 more.  I like the idea of having more categories and more opportunities to accumulate points especially on days when life gets in the way of training or sick days.  Here's some suggestions for changes:

2 points per 20 minutes of swim bike run (since we are triathletes of course... could allow walk for those with injuries etc)
1 point per 20 minutes of other activity (strength, yoga, etc)
1 point per 7 f&v
1 point per day that you drink at least 8 glasses of water/ 64 ounces (something I really need to work on)
1 point per soda free day

Others: 1 point per junk food free day, 1 point per sugar free day...

Let me know what you think!

Mom just called.  My great-grandma died yesterday.  All of our family still lives in Sweden so it's hard when something like this happens since we can't be there.  She did live to be 100 and from what they told mom it seemed like it was just her time.  Kinda a hard morning for me tough....

Let's meditate together: "I will become one with the spreadsheet..... I will become one with the spreadsheet....."

OK, take a deep breath. Don't you feel better now? LOL

It's not a big deal to add those columns to the spreadsheet.

OK, check out the spreadsheet:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tpa5iZ6XoKc4GxdRCYPtniA&hl=e...

It's a little cumbersome. So if the challenge works and you want to do this again in the future, we can talk about switching the columns and rows around. But for January, let's see how it goes with this format.....

Spreadsheet info:
1) Enter your name in the 1st column.
2) Do not change anything in yellow or orange highlighted cells! (The formulas will calculate your points.)
3) Minutes of Swim, Bike or Run --> Enter total minutes for Week 1. You get 2 pts for every 20 min of activity.
4) Minutes of OTHER activity --> Enter total minutes for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every 20 min of activity.
5) # of servings Fruits &Veggies --> Enter total servings for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every 7 servings.
6) # Days drinking at least 64 oz water --> Enter total DAYS for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every day.
7) # Days with NO sugar, junk food or soda --> Enter total DAYS for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every day.
8) Repeat all of the above for weeks 2, 3 and 4.

Eventually, he starts shivering and I pick him up and carry him in.

We've lost about 5 tennis balls in the snow. Good thing I stockpiled a few cans of them before the snow started. LOL

For someone who rarely swims, I seem to own a helluva lotta goggles. 6-7 pairs? Couple in the car, a bag here, at my house, at my sister's, a dog eats a pair, get another ... there were some awesome $2 goggs here a while back too, they still work great except the nosepieces break fast and I have to use a twistie tie to keep 'em together.
