Hi there Sal!

How's the project going this week?

A little less hectic...can you tell (batting my eyelashes)?  This is like my 8th post in the Twisnibbins thread!

So what time will you get into work tomorrow?  11...11:15?   Aren't the last 2 weeks great?

Congratulations!  That deserves a round of applause!

Artemis - 2008-01-24 8:33 AM I've been having problems with night workouts, too, since I've been getting stuck in the lab until 6 or later.  It's really hard to get motivated to run when I get home late.

This is the kind of problem Im having... I leave work so late that its literally go home, make dinner, eat, (work some more but hopefully not for too much longer) and then SLEEP

once I get home, I'm done - I just can't make myself go out again

How's it goin', Cat?
Have fun with your friends, Beth.
Glad to see you on Nibbs, Sal.
Sorry today is still in the land of suckiness, Scott.
Cool that your hubby wants to tri, too, Amy.

DId I get everyone?
I'm trying to stay out of my kitchen until dinner is ready. I keep nibbling on stuff while I'm stirring the chili!

That's been my life lately.  More and more I'm thinking early is the way to go, but the first week or two of that is hellish.

I'm sorry...kidding   Masters in Food Science for me.  My major professor was recommending I go on and get my PhD, but I was ready to go work...

Good luck.  How's the research and dissertation going?

That's fair.  Sometimes I'm not so sure about this path.

I'm in my 2nd year and finally have all of the hardware and protocols worked out.  i hope to have some real data in the next two months.  That will be exciting.

I wish.  Nanotech is pretty cool, but more of an engineering thing.

I am isolating RNA from rat hearts and white blood cells, then using that to do a microarray - basically look at all of the genes that are turned on in the cells at the time I harvest.  I'm trying to figure out what genes are involved in Pulmonary Hypertension as it develops.

That's cool!  Of course all us folks in industry wish we were doing cutting edge research, and I'm sure academic researchers wish they worked in the industry so that had access to corporate capital...the grass is always greener...

I watched people swim today. And pulled lane lines in and out of the water. Oh and I made some kick a$$ turkey chili (and ate lots of it).

Well Pam,

I had mojo for 2 types of pts today.  First set:morbidly obese black women whose breasts were bigger than my quadriceps (combined quad to ONE breast!)...Umm, yeah, not very attractive at all...Second set elderly, Alzheimer's pts with an altered mental status (and what is different today in an Alzheimer's pt, theyre always altered...)first AMS lady went in and out of complete heart block--the electrical conduction in her heart was not connecting.  Cardiology wanted to put a pacer in but I talked him out of it by reminding him that she had Alzheimer's and what would his purpose be?  Other Alzheimer's pt is a SCREAMER when she's awake (let sleeping babies sleep I say)  in the next room is the CEO's daughter who wants the door shut so she can't hear screaming lady (welcome to my world kiddo) That one had a too fast heart beat but that's no reason for the change in mental status and all her other labs were fine...
