Warp speed, cow bells and bolt cutters? Gee, I've missed a busy day on Nibbs. Guess I'd better backtrack and figure out what you're all talking about. LOL

Hi Nibbs - Im in the airport FF lounge (thanks bro) on the free internet.... flights due to be called in about 10 minutes but I wanted to say a BIG thank you for the thoughts and prayers...

Its good to be home at a time like this... and seeing family too. The funeral is tomorrow (Thurs) and then Im staying about another week to be there for Mum.

Im not joking... bad dial up internet and no cell phone reception on the farm so this may be my last burst of connection so everyone - take care!

Hey there nibbs! Went for a little ride today with Heather. Her hubby watched all 4 kids while we were gone, and get this--my 11 yr old tween daughter who balked at being the only girl there, and thought she would rather stay home alone all day had THE best time! She was in such a good mood on the way home. Well, for at least 10 minutes, anyway. that got us most of the way home. I'll take what I can get She is soooo moody these days. She must be practicing for 7th grade ina  few months or something.

The ride itself was good. I think I'm gonna be sore, and I shold have been doing this a couple weeks ago, but hey, I am more at peace with my bike--on flats. Too bad the race is on hills. My goal is to finish and still be able to walk the next day. I think that is something I can accomplish, even if I have to stop and rest a couple times. Oh, and in other good news I got to talk to my hubby last night for 15 minutes, and today I talked my parents into coming up and staying with me in the hotel Friday night and coming to watch all or most of the race!!! Yay!!! I don't have to go to my first tri completely alone!!!! I'm sooooo relieved.

that is awesome Amy!

Its always nice to have support at races, Amy

The Blonde is going to be at Doggy Dash on Saturday, but I think she's there to look at the dogs, not watch me run LOL

The best part is going to be the 3rd annual Pug race at 11:00... I think they block off part of a parking lot and let the pugs run loose. That alone should be a scream LOL

sounds like fun!

kns57 - 2008-05-27 7:57 AM My Memorial Day - Frank recently got a used GoldWing and we were set to join friends for a charity ride. Now, you all know I am really afraid of the motorcycles (don't want to day bike for we all may be thinking of the other kind ) So last Wednesday he took me out for a test ride and I did okay. Monday morning, bright and early we get to our friends house at 6:10am. They live in a cul-de-sac and are in their driveway waiting on us. Frank pulls up and as he is stopping the bike he is also making the turn in the cul-de-sac. Guess what...yup! He tipped the bike over and I went flying off of the bike. My friend who was watching said one second I was there, then there was a scream, and I was gone. Luckily since we were in slow motion, and I had just bought a bike jacket with elbow pads, shoulder pads, and a back pad, and I was wearing my helmet, I was okay. I just lay there on the street laughing. Here I am, terrified that we are going to crash at high speeds and I get dumped going at just about zero! Besides the bruise that I have on my right leg and my knee being a little sore the rest of the day was great. I did ride on the back of that motorcycle for about 6 hours. We were part of a ride that had over 700 bikes that rode to Madison, Georgia for their Memorial Day ceremony. It was really cool seeing all the bikes in front and behind us. Then we went to Montecello, Georgia, for lunch. Back home and finished the day at ours streets block party (got my swim and a short bike ride in). All it all it was a great day.

Glad you're okay Kendra!  Be kind of hard to get back on the bike after tipping it in the driveway before a day ride.

x2!

Yanti and Beth, kissing in Nibbs, sigh ... just like the good ol' days

It's such a joy and relief to be co-mentoring with you. Oh, and your daughter is utterly amazing ... yep, just like Mom! Wish I had some of those celebration enchiladas.

Doggy Dash???

Oooh, comeandgetit would love that.

Of course, in his case, "doggy dash" would end up being "stop and sniff."

I took him to the park this weekend. It took him 0.005 seconds to stick his nose into poison ivy.....

Do you feel my joy?

Beth, love the pic of K, she's gorgeous! My pool is ready for the Nibbs party, not sure it would survive one but we'd have some fun. BT, it nedes to survive  a Nibbs party, I couldn't stand summer here with my kids and no pool
