Subject: RE: TAN 45: `TANnihilating Political Threads One by One.'

picked up oldest son from Kindergarten today, and as I was waiting a woman asked another beside me, "Do you know of any reliable sitters in this neighborhood?"  I jumped in, "What are you looking for?  All day care?" She nodded.

I said, "You should check out so-and-so at XYY on this street.  She runs a state-licensed in-home child care"  She kinda snorted and said, "we were just there, and it was appalling!"

"Oh?" I said...

"Do you know her?" she asked.

"she's my neighbor."  I can't even get out that my youngest is with her Mon - Thur.

She asks me my name... and then hurriedly moves away behind me.  I don't know if she was embarrassed or what... but I was a little taken back from her response.  I mean... I am at the neighbor's house a fair bit.  It's always clean.  The woman is very reliable and cares deeply for kids.  I don't know what she wanted... but her loss.

You should go air that out to half the crowd in the Kids in Restaurants thread and see what happens

Seriously, some parents these days...just ridiculous.
