Hey-I just found his tri schedule and goals for all of last year.  And what he would need to do in order to by a new road bike.

and a reciept for his areo wheel-I'll put it aside.

He IS organised...I need to sit down and work out my super bike justification... anything to be learnt from his experience?

Cool-latest discovery...

his packet of papers from the grand coulee IM in 2007.  It has all the confirmation info for the tri, hotel, and rental car, a bunch of notes to himself, printouts with nutrition plans and stuff like that.

And that is the end of the bag!  Whoo hoo.  I am going to get ready for bed!

Bye Mel!

It might have been a way to tell himself it was beyond his means...nah

it said he would need to put aside half of his income for 3 months

If we are talking about money left after paying rent and the necessary bills (medical and car insurance) it would take me....wait-I probably should set aside a little money for food...

oh Crap-I don't have enough money for food and am going to be scavenging at my parents.   I guess that means a new bike is out of the question.

Me too-at least when it comes to my own responsibilities.  If it is someone else's problem I can get it done-make a plan and follow through with it.  Myself...that's when the ADHD kicks in.  When I am helping someone else I am thinking about them and therefore the task.  When it is a task that I need to do my mind wanders all over the  place and I will jump up to do something else and not even realize it until I have skipped through 4 other activities.  If I see or think something I will be off doing that-I am a lot better about it than I use to be though.

Ive had my road bike 4 years...unfortunatley the groupset on the front is entry level and starting to show serious signs of age...if I just invest in new components I will never get around to a new bike...and Ive always wished for something different!!

Plus...I would probably be more comfortable on a slightly smaller frame so it seems this year is the time to do it...especially if I committ to my cycling this year..even if it means teaching myself early morning training!

I should add Ive decided to get a good roadie that can be set up in TT mode if I chose to go that way... not a tri bike...no interest in getting one right now...

Get my hadling up and I might try a ride on the track sometime late this year...one place does 'Try the track' sessions!! Although Ive never ridden a fixie...seems like something I might enjoy...the track I mean..

I just sent a note back to Danett and I am now going to actually turn in.

About bikes...I am using my Diamond Back Sorento that I recieved for my 13th birthday (nearly 15 years ago)  I replaced the gear shifters, all the cables, the hand grips, the seat and the tires.  It is in fairly good condition, especially considering how much I have abused it over the years.  At some point I want a bike that is more racing appropriate, but for now I am focused on the me part of the triathlete rather than the gear part.  I will get a new wet suit before I get a new bike.  I can tell you about my unique wet suit another day...

Have a great evening Cat

Good night Yanti (if you are still around)

Mornin' Nibbs...

THought I'd stop by before work, and before the cptr battery dies...
Really should get going to get dressed and get the boys off to daycare, then pack a bag to workout before leaving work...

I don't understand how hubby left this morning without making me a pot of coffee...
Did I do something to him and not realize it?
Maye he's ticked b/c I didn't get up to help with 2yo... who NOW has a horrible cough that evidently kept everyone up last night (except me )  That kid can't win lately....

Well.... toot te loo....

Hi Kristin!

I just read your blogspot thing on the last finisher.  I agree, watching AG finishers is powerful stuff.

It really is. I get all teared up every time I watch Kona. And being at IMWI made me feel like literally anything is possible. There are lots of inspiring people out there!
