Do you have the "crackpipe" adapter?

Yeah - still a pain.  I need 4 hands with that thing.  It does make it better, though.

I'll have to look at the aero bottle closer then.  It's about $40, so not too bad.  I like that it's insulated and has a place for the garmin.  I'll see what Sands setup looks like.

I haven't seen that one. I have the profile design one that holds 24oz. I like it, but it does clog up some of my cockpit space. I think it's great though in combination w/ the 2 behind the seat bottles. I'm interested in the one you're looking at though.

I'll have to give the wheel cover some serious consideration then for races.
I've already added to my list. Of course I had to put it above the quarq and 310xt though.

Looked like you left some folks behind on John Rogers...your making some great gains.
Last night was "Go hard or Go home".

I have question for the 310XT folks... What do you have displayed your screen for running and biking?  My old watch (Polar RS300x) and el cheapo bike computer didn't give me any customization options.  Now that I can change things I'm paralyzed with options.

I don't have a 310, but I have the 305.  I'm guessing they are somewhat similar.

Running, I have the following:

Total Time, Pace, HR, Distance.  It's set to lap every mile, showing me the pace for each mile.  I've typically been training by HR.

Biking:

Cadence, Speed, HR, Time.  I do not have a powermeter.  I've typically been training by HR.

Of course, you can cycle thru the screens, so I have other things I can see.  Total distance, lap distance, lap time, etc.

Thoughts, for $1500?

I'm always looking....

http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bik/1890869727.html

Guy listed it for sale in the classifieds of BT.  $$2,800 bike.

Wonder if he would take $1,000 even.

I believe I know the guy selling this. He's meticulous about taking care of his stuff. I almost made an offer myself, but I think I want a Quarq or a SRM.

I was, but I think I'm going to give the marathon another go.  My run lets me down in my local tris.  A race will motivate me to run... lots.

I've always been big on quality, but I want to give big volume another shot.

or this....

What would a build up cost?

Building up a bike can get expensive.  If you were to build it, what type of components would you want?

I would want nicer components (105+ components).  I'm not sure I have the expertise to build myself either, so i'm not sure it would even be worth it.  Definitely be a learning curve.

105s are very nice components!  Could you ride a 54cm?  How tall are you?

Between Ebay and some Nashbar coupons you might surprise yourself.

What are you riding now?

I've got a Trek 2.1 road bike (56cm), but a bit stretched out.  If they had a 55cm road bike, i probably would have been on that.  I feel like i'm trying to make my road bike into a tri bike.  I don't want to get too far in, spending money, when i can direct that to a tri bike.

I believe I would fit on a 54cm tri bike.  I'm 5'10''.  I'd have to measure my inseam, but my best guess would be 29'' inseam.

A brand new P1 would costs about $1800.00, which is with Ultegra and Durace components.  If I could build something up for less than that, and with a nice wheel set + powertap, it might be worth it to me.

Sounds like it might be worth swinging by your LBS and trying out a 54cm frame.  You could also ask them what they would charge to build it up for you.  A couple of the shops near me have an fixed assembly (which they wave if you buy the bike from them).

It may or may not help pilot, but I'm riding a 52 on the roadie and the Trinity is a S (Giant). You're welcome to try them out and see what you think. I surely don't mind.

PS - you've really been daydreaming! (I like the Trek TTX and the Cervelo will take some effort, but it'll be what you want and you could quite possibly get it much cheaper if you do your homework and don't get in a rush).

Tri bikes are more about your "reach".  It's the distance from the saddle to the center of the aerobar pads which is important.

Are you a long torso or short torso person.

You need to post a pic of you on your bike in the aero position.  Then we can help you get a few measurements which will let us know if you can ride a 54cm.

I will work on that tonight.  I'll see if I can get one posted.  Probably need to dial in my position on the road bike anyway.

I'm pretty evenly proportioned.  Not long or short torso, so i'll go with medium.
