pdbman - 2010-07-19 4:40 PM I'm a little frustrated with myself. I had it all planned out. I was even a little late for work because I needed to get my stuff together so I could go for a ride at lunch. Then I go and leave my jersey behind. It wouldn't go over very good to come back to work wearing a sweaty shirt so I had to skip the ride. I almost drove to the lbs to buy another one but I already have plenty and by the time I would make it back I wouldn't have time for a ride. Why did I take that extra shirt out of my bag the other day?

Sans shirt?  Was that an option?

I considered this for a moment but then decided against it
1-I didn't want to blind any unfortunate people that happened to drive by.
2-Its been so long since my back has seen the sun that I would look like a lobster by the time I finished my 30 minute ride.

LOL - you could have been a Scooby-Doo episode!  I hear you on the sunburn...  burnt backs are the second worst (right behind burning the back of your knees)  I guess if I were European, there could be worse still, but we won't go there...

Sunburned arm pits wouldn't be much fun either, but you only have to worry about that if you shave them.

Wait, but the TdF challenge goes until the 25th, right?  Which is a Sunday?  I hope so, because that's how I set up my goals!

Ok, so I've only read this page, and it looks like I've missed so much!  Guillotines, Mr Sparky, sunburned armpits?  Lol, man, the things I miss when I go out of town!

Anyways, I did my HIM yesterday and came back today... Then immediately went for a recovery run & beer Tongue out

I think that was the hardest thing I've ever done!  I've heard people say that marathons are harder than HIM's, but I'm a much better runner than cyclist so I thought this was harder!  But I hit all my expected time goals (they weren't really goals... just estimations of how I thought I'd do based on training) and coincidentally I got almost the exact same time for my half marathon split as I did for my first half marathon race last September!  So that definitely means I'm a stronger runner since I'm the same speed as before even after the swim and bike.

I did an hour and a half drainer ride this morning.  I watched the 2004 IM World Championships on DVR while I rode.  That provided plenty of motivation.  But my keester still hurts.  A little 30 minute run planned for lunchtime.

That's great - congrats on the HIM finish - that in of itself is an accomplishment!  Most importantly - what kind of beer?

I put an hour in on the drainer this morning!  I have a 2300yd swim w/o at lunch and then a 50min interval run tonight...

You're right. That is such a relief. I'll be able to count my Saturday ride. We're going out of town this weekend again and I'm considering doing an ows and riding the 50+ miles around the lake. Not only will it be fun but I can count the ride for the Tdf challenge. You've just made my day.
My timing is a little off though. If I had gone last weekend or if I were to go next weekend then I would have been able to do a tri while I was there. Oh well. I do what I can.

All you people make me feel like a total slacker. I guess I am since I'm on the slacker list. I was feeling pretty good about my workout last night but it sounds like I was still a slacker since you are all talking about your workouts that put mine to shame.
I did a practice tri last night and followed that up with some strength training. It wasn't anything spectacular but I did ok. One thing about a tri, it really shows you where your weaknesses are. I was feeling good about my run but after the swim and ride, it wasn't quite up to par. I better focus on my running a little more.

Nah, you're not a slacker. You just set high goals for yourself this month.
