Had the gift of time tonight so wanted to stop by my old stomping grounds to catch up a bit . Cat... Tilly is precious. I have a ragdoll, too (he's a mitted seal point ). He is quite a character... never a dull moment... but he's well worth it because not only does he make me laugh everyday, but also, despite me being highly allergic to most kitties, Bailey the Wonder Cat doesn't make me sneeze, itch or wheeze even a little bit. Aww so good to hear some real feedback. I never used to have allergies but Ive had hayfever pretty badly spring and autumn this year... No troubles with the kitty when I went to the breeders and we were there well over an hour so I would have known! I cant wait to get her - mid to late next week... I think she will also be fantastic company, especially on the days where I need to put my health first and be good and stay home! If you need to stay home, get a dog..... Cats are way more independent than dogs. Dogs 'need' for you to come home a whole lot.... And yes, I do speak from experience! Agreed, cats are more independent and can be left for longer... though I don't like to leave mine to his own devices because I am afraid he will secure some opposable thumbs and take over the universe. That said, just depends on the cat in terms of whether or not they make good company. Bailey the wonder cat must be in the middle of everything. And I mean everything... so, for example, if the kids are playing a board game, he plops himself in the middle of the board. If I try to iron, he stretches himself across the ironing board (that's what I get for ironing... ) and if I'm home sick he gets in bed with me and kneads on my legs. In general, if I'm involved in something and not paying attention to him, he will nip at my ankles and meow at me until I do. If he's lying down and someone walks by him without acknowledging him, he'll swat at his/her feet so he gets a quick pet. He also plays fetch better than either of my dogs since he doesn't have to be told to "leave it" when he returns with ball in mouth and the ball is much less drooly . |
