Enjoy the time. I agree. Though I don't like long layovers I get stressed with really short ones. Take the later flight though and don't worry about needing to catch a later flight for some reason. That would be my compromise. |

Do I leave at 8:23 in the morning, get to Newark around 10am, and then wait until 7:40 pm to get my flight. or. Do I leave at 10:23 in the morning, get to Newark around noon, then wait until 7:40 to get my flight. Leaving early: if the flight gets cancelled or delayed, I have the other one for back up. But that's a BIG layover. Perhaps not so bad in Newark? Leaving later: not having to get up at 0Dark30 hrs, shorter layer. But possible bad traffic getting to Pittsburgh Intl at that time of the morning, plus there doesn't appear to be a backup plan if I can't get that flight. There is a flight with a much shorter layover (PIT - BOS- DUB-GLA) but there are really tight layovers in Boston (1hr 10 min) and then in Dublin I have to clear immigration and make a short layover there too (not a huge deal, there's like 4 flights a day to GLA or Preswick) but I still have to immigrate again in the UK. Not sure I want to do this, because my arrival is *very* time sensitive, but my departure isn't. Thoughts? I would go early Again sooooo jealous of you. I would not want the long layover so would do the opposite. |

But if getting there is extremely time sensative, I would be stressed the entire trip, so that's no fun either. Pack a few good books or a laptop with a couple movies to kill the time and try to enjoy the time? It's a tough call. My flight got delayed out of NYC going to London where I had to meet up with people. I only had one phone number, I didn't know where I was staying, and immigration just about didn't let me in because I didn't know that stuff... With me, having time is a stress reliever. |

My SO is late for everything and we are always rushing even if I try to hurry things along. I'm pacing downstairs chomping at the bit. Then we have to drive to the airport at a million miles per hour, scramble through security. It's almost inevitable, we get into a BIG fight departing for any vacation. But once we are on the plane/car and on our way, it calms down. SO aggrivating. |

But once we are on the plane/car and on our way, it calms down. SO aggrivating. Being late bugs me also but on the other hand spending time sitting in an airpot "just in case" drives me spare. Somewhere in there is the timing that allows you to walk from security and almost straight onto the plane. That's what I aim for. |

But if I DID have kids, they would be my best friends... It would be hard to see them go all the time. I'm super sorry man. Hang in there. |

Champion 12759 Chicago | Subject: RE: TAN #180 Degrees (Turn Around, Every Now and Then) Chips ahoy...... The 1960s and early 1970s Chips Ahoy bags featured comic strips of Cookie Man, a superhero character who subdued various cookie-devouring creatures such as Fruit Fly or Big Wig. His alter-ego was named Mort Meek, who was always seen "counting the 16 chips" in his Chips Ahoy cookie when he was attacked by one of the creatures, at which point he slipped into a phone booth, locker room, restroom, etc., to become Cookie Man and finish off the villain in a Clark Kent—Superman vein. These characters were also the subject of Chips Ahoy's concurrent TV commercial campaign, and were both played by the same actor. |
