Thanks guys.  Unfortunately, he's several states away and actually very wealthy so his yard is about 500,000 acres.  But just one of the nicest guys and his wife is so great.  I'm so sad to hear this news.

I think I will just give him a call and see if there's anything I can do for him.

TAN is wise...

OK, back to fun talk...

Kind of a downer question for the gang.  I just got word that a good friend's wife has colon cancer and she's likely terminal.

What do you do in that instance?  Card, call, prayers, flowers?  That's all I could really think of.

She's been a marathoner and ultra-marathoner forever and she's just the nicest person.  It's very sad news.

Any advice on what you do in that instance?

I didn't think the mortality rate on that was very high - and it's a little more rare in women.  Did it go unnoticed for a long time?  Reached stage 4 I'm assuming?

Half a million acres?  So what, 3-4 hours to mow?  No big deal.

Yeah, that's what I'm hearing.  They thought they were going for one tumor but found that and it had spread, then on further tests, they realized that it was really spread fast.

They're going to try some pretty radical things.  But the prognosis isn't good.

Sorry to hear this. I get the scope up the wazoo every 5 years now. I guess there's 2 forms of colon cancer: The very tratable, low mortality, there's a polyp or 2 type and one which just blossoms everywhere. Surgery isn't typically helpful in that case, but there are new chemotherapies (Sutent, I think) which are approved for the second kind.

When a friend of mine is hit with difficulty, I try to offer a distraction. Be there for them and make time for something which they've shelved for a while; a bike ride for instance. If they want to talk about it: fine. Don't dwell on it for them unless they want to.

Yes she is pale since she can't get much sun due to the skin cancer.

Course you did.  Cord's mom kicked Cancer's butt.  You on the other hand lost all your animals.

Then again, I'm not sure you didn't put your cat in your neighbor's yard with a target on its back, throw your dog into the road, and swing your cat around by the tail so an owl took a liking to it.

Big Appa - 2013-01-07 11:26 AM I get to meet a new TAN person this weekend I am excited!
Yermom isn't a tan person but I met her. She's quite pale, in fact.

Yes she is pale since she can't get much sun due to the skin cancer.

My mom died in 2008.

My mom has beat 3 kinds of cancer. I think Heaven doesn't want her and hell is too scared of her.

Our neighbor shot our dog when I was a kid. And another neighbor shot our cat. Our other dog got hit by a car. And I once had a kitten taken away in the night by an owl.

This could explain some things.

His position on guns for one...

But Tony, you've never really voiced your hatred for Owls... So I'm guessing you don't hate those as much...

All I know is I totally won that sad-off. SUCK ON IT A-ONE TIIIIIIME Cord.

Don't let him fool you people his Dog and cat didn't get shot.... they were eaten.

hey Kids.....fluffy ran away, sorry. But to cheer you up, I made beef stew.
