Wow you are the party organiser too??? No wonder you are so busy! No, this is a collective effort. I'm just cooking the Prime Rib and doing my share. We're trying to figure out gag gift for boss. Pasties came out a Freudian slip in a meeting yesterday and now we're thinking that that would make a GREAT gift. He even mentioned in the e-mail confirmation no pasties as part of dress code, I think that should confirm it. hehe sounds fabulous! Do you have your menu together yet or do ya still need help? I know I said I would help and am running a little behind on that... just let me know and I soon will have more time. Would you beleive Im actually doing ok I think? Seems like everyone is pretty cruisy so I have a book where Ive written out ALL my options and Ive starred the ones I like... Started off fine, had a good thing rolling along was helping out one of our newer nurses who isn't up to snuff...then the defecation hit the ventillation...it went splat in case anyone wants to know what happens there not yet...the girl that told me about the job said when she applied they took a month to call her for an interview. It's only been a couple of weeks. She told me that they pulled the application so it's a matter of time before I get called for an interview. I'm just burnt out and frustrated having to do some of the stuff we do. (like Sunday intubating an old lady from a nursing home with an obvious aspiration pneumonia, or today intubating an old dialysis pt with alzheimer's) And on that note.... any responses from the resumés and apps? No need to tell me about the senior pts.... I used to work in a Nursing Home as the activities director... You couldn't pay me nearly enough to go back to that job. What's really funny is that my 38 yr old sister has decided that as a career change she's going to go to nursing school so that she can make more money and tell corporate america where to shove it. But you can't tell her anything otherwise b/c as a med tech (that hasn't worked full-time in a hospital since 95) she knows it all and of course RN's don't deal with crap. DH who's a Nuc Med Tech is laughing his a** off. |

Dee, I checked my team logs tonight. Pat is an overachiever Thanks for checking! I gave up trying to load blogs. It's just too slow. I don't know if Pat is an overachiever, as much as HE is "highly motivated." He's put up some good pics too. Good smack. (It might have even motivated Cat! LOL) I have 6300 yds in. Not bad considering that my shoulder may REALLY fall off.  |

I think the biggest thing is balancing the last minute shopping, things like berries and vegetables (Im gonna go as early as I can to get this stuff on chrissie eve) with all the food that needs to be cooked in advance but realistically most things have to be done no more than 24 hours prior... Im just glad I will have the house to myself for most of the day on chrissie Eve... on the day i will be cooking (hopefully) just the pavlova, roast and vegies plus doing any decorating/arranging Oh and if i decide to make pikelets or scones or scrolls or something fresh for brekkie then that will be in the morning too... |

I wake up early get it all mixed and ready for the oven, before they're even awake. What ya gonna do with the berries? Wow, Christmas with fresh berries. How it must be? Yeah early morning for me I want to get he pav done before I need to get the roast in... The berries are for a few things, to decorate the pavlova, to mix with honey and yoghurt and granola to make berry parfaits for breakfast and maybe a fruit salad if Im feeling keen! Oh and I might top the Fruit flan with them instead of peaches... Fresh strawberries have been a part of chrissie for as long as I can remember. |

Yanti's inspirational pic today helped a lot...Most of the gang is really quiet though...I thought y friend dexter would be more animated cause his logs and blogs get interesting. Said we would let HIM pick her goal if she didn't get her azz in gear--also warned her since he's not only gotten Cat to make a side challenge but incited notarunner from the turkey terrors to challenge big brother dexter from puddings. I sure wouldn't want him picking MY goals and I love my swim haha whats funny is he is usually a very sweet, very gentle man... guess we are bringing out his competitive spirit! hehe he was on my team last month and just never popped in to say hi at all but during the TDF challenge he was great with his team.. guess he just needs the right buttons pushed... Does that mean Im pushing his buttons? hmmm.... not sure how I feeel about that... |
