Nole40 - 2008-07-17 7:32 AM Hey Everyone- Thanks for the response, I really appreciate all of the kind words. Saturday went really well as I was able to drop 17+ minutes from last years time on the same course. While the athlete in me says I could have done better on the swim and bike, the other half of me is pleased with my run. The biggest thing is that I am improving, which feels good. Who's racing next?

i've got my first oly on the 27th....yikes!!!!!

Lisa is on the clock. Next Sunday is showtime!!! Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

VeganMan - 2008-07-17 10:57 AM

The good news keeps coming in for me, God has blessed me.

I've been riding a stationary bike the last two weeks and as soon as I get my bike shoes back I plan on starting spin classes to get my strength back before heading outdoors.  (Also need to replace my bike before "heading outdoors".)  I also got the go-ahead from my doctor to start swimming again, the scar has healed well enough.

Things are actually looking so good that I'm going to try to enter a bike 'ride' next month.  Don't know how long I'll ride or if I'll end up having to borrow one, but that's the goal.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Great news man, glad to hear the recovery is going along so well. Keep us updated.

Ryan... so happy to hear you are having such a speedy recovery!! If only the bike could heal itself along with you :-)

I had a race this weekend, another sprint and I was pretty happy with how I did! My training lately has been more run focused for the upcoming death race in a couple weeks... so I haven't been swimming or biking much at all, which is evident in my times! The swim was on par with the last swim time, bike was a bit faster (the course was flat flat flat..) and the run was a minute faster! Go figure!

I finished in 1:26:41 (750S,  20KM bike, 5k run), 6th/16 in my age group, 54/95 total.  My actual times and stuff are in the log.

Last weekend, I went down to try out my leg of the death race (www.canadiandeathrace.com) ...leg #2... oh sweet mother... it was the HARDEST thing I've ever done in my entire life!!! I wanted to cry haha it's about 3/4 of a marathon, with two mountain summits in the middle...(6500 ft summits).. I've never experienced anything like this in my entire life. It took 6 hours for us to go 25km or something (a little shorter than the actual leg..).. it was hiking straight up, and straight down, up and down...down and up... for the entire time.. no break! It was the first time in my life where I reached the point where your mind takes over and your body just is forced to follow. It showed me that I'm stronger than I thought I was, and able to put up with a hell of a lot of pain !! The last 5 miles are virtually all straight down hill on slippery gravel, I thought my knees were going to bust right out of the skin, thought my toes were broken, thought I was going to die... but once you get to the bottom, stuff yourself with food, rest... it's funny how your body is just fine...

It was an insane experience.. and now I have to do it for real in two weeks... I'm totally freaking out !!

Lexy about 10 pics down, she's not training, she's partying in France. Michael should investigate, this could be a major infraction of mentor training rules.

I finally put together my RR for Steelhead. Sorry for the delay, I've taken some time post race to enjoy myself while putting together some quick training for an upcoming olympic.

Steelhead was a good experience that really knocked me on my behind. I've got some work to do, but I was able to pull through and finish. Best of luck with the remaining season to everyone!

Our fearless leader has signed up for IMLOU 09. Let have the rest of the group sign up excluding me of course and have a Team Shermbelle's pace group.

I was lost but now am found...whew

It has been a whirlwind few weeks here and need to get back on track. Haven't updated my logs in a while or checked in on the group.

It is true I am in for IM Lou next year and we should have a pace group. Who's in Laughing

Well how about Brian and Michael give us a game plan for IMAZ this week. When do you plan to get there, who's coming with you, game day plan, expected time, etc.

Good luck this week!
