I'm a little sore this morning but not too bad.  We'll see how I feel as the day progresses.

On to the details of the race.  Gonna be short cause I'm gonna put most of it in the RR but, the swim was short.  I think they are saying 200 yards short.  Whatever, it was still a good swim for me, especially since I haven't been swimming AT ALL lately.  The water was GREAT.  Calm and the temp was 68.  Perfect.

I took my time in T1.  No big hurry.

The first loop of the bike was great.  I averaged about 17mph.  That is way fast for me.  I knew it was gonna come back to haunt me and it did.  The second loop SUCKED.  But, I made it.

Took more time in T2.  Some of my T2 is actually on the run cause I had to cross the timing mat before I hit the port o let and then chatted it up with my BT crew.  I needed that mentally.  I was pretty wiped out after the bike so I fed off of their encouragement.

The run was more of a death march.  The course was beautiful but desolate.  I walked out of transition with a 58 y/o lady and we stuck together the entire time.  Without her, I don't think I could have managed to go sub 3 hours on the run.  BUT, we made it.

What an experience.  As much as I said I wouldn't be doing it again, I am looking forward to next year!

So my little tri is nothing like Erica's HIM, but I did good today. Well, I did ok today -- the temps were horrid, the humidity was incredible, but at least we didn't have any thunderstorms. And everyone was as pokey as me -- no one could move very fast in this heat!

And I got first in my AG.

First place in AG sounds a little better than just ok to me.  Great job!

Again, great job Erica!  Way to push through it all.   It should bring a big smile to your face knowing what you accomplished.  And I'm glad to hear that you want to tackle the course  again.

Hey guys, I'm settling in for my training week in Wisconsin, kicked it off nicely with the Horribly Hilly Hundreds ride yesterday. On top of the hills, which were the most insane I've ever seen, it was really hot and humid. But I rode with an awesome group of BTers - amyjotris, 1tt, wavedog and bertgwen - so we had a blast. It was by far the hardest things I've ever done. Lots of other BTers were there too, Whizzzzz and misskelly, schmize, mndiver, and more. We had a good time at the post race festival.

I'm off for an OWS followed by a run so I'll update my miles for the team after!

Immediately after every race we often say we'll never do it again, but that usually means we'll definitely be doing it again Nice work!

3rd Week's Team Standings for the June Challenge.....

1st place - JUNE BUGS - 66.1%
2nd place - Taser Running - 62.4%
3rd place - Team Trifecta - 58.4%

What will happen NEXT week? (Other than Team Taser Running pulling out the TASERS?)

Stay tuned. The month is only 70% completed. The 4th will be posted next week.

Stay motivated! Keep running! (And don't forget the secondary challenge: the POST PADDING challenge!)

Got in another almost 7 miles, nice post-swim run around a lake and through an arboretum. I love running out of town, so much more interesting. My legs felt a little dead - wonder why? Had a great swim with a WI BTer, I love open water swimming. My next run isn't until Wednesday, but it's a 13 miler so it will be a big boost to my goal. I should hit 100% before the end of the month!
