Everyone else is your hard charging, type A, alpha male. So... to ensure that none of them borrow/liberate/steal my flight equipment all of my bag tags are pink! So is my water bottle and my lunch box. I think it's only fitting that I have a pink swim cap on too! |

Extreme Veteran 572 | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Florida : Official Thread So is everyone using swimskins, tri-outfit, or other for the swim. Up to this point I have only done wetsuit legal races so this will be a first for me. I really wanted to get a swimskin but when I stopped in to all3sports the other day and looked on the rack they all costs as much as my wetsuit did! I think my wife would have killed me and they are all the textile ones anyways now with the WTC ruling so I passed. Instead I will be swimming in a new two piece ORCA tri-outfit I just bought. I am a little nervous about this but will give it a go at the hotel pool on Saturday to see how it feels. I have done some swimming in my old 1 piece 2XU trisuit and it went fine so hopefully the ORCA won't make life too difficult for me on Sunday. What are your experiences trisuit vs wetsuit vs swimsuit, etc.... |

You will see me I am in britght oranged and black and white gear The swimskin rule doesn't technically take effect until September. When it does the rule states that the swimskins have to be made from textile material essentially getting away from the swimskins that are acting like wetsuits and giving buoyancy. |

Not everything they have is out on the floor. Like they have the shorter ones and they don't have them out on the floor. I will be wearing my skinsuit on Sunday. I need all the help I can get on the swim. |

The only ones I saw on the rack at the time were $250 to $350 dollars. I was kinda hoping to find something with a 1 in front of it. |

Extreme Veteran 504 SW Florida Gulf Coast | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Florida : Official Thread If that forecast for a high of 85F holds steady, that would be sweeeet! Swimskin- Since I live down here, most of my events are not wetsuit legal... and normally I just race in a bathing suit for Olys/Sprints. I don't own a swimskin, but was considering purchasing one before WTC launched their new rule. However, a very dear friend sent me her Xterra Velocity++ to borrow, but it's got long legs and I'm not sure that I want to deal with that in the morning hours before the swim. It's just too warm in the AM down here. I am bringing it with me, though. Just not sure I'll be using it. If I don't use it, I'll be in a blue Orca tri top with DeSoto shorts... neon yellow cap... 7:06AM swim wave. Getting excited!!!! |

Extreme Veteran 572 | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Florida : Official Thread I was checking Accuweather and they are still holding at 90 degrees for their forecast. I don't know where you found the 85 degrees but I think I will go with their prediction, sounds nicer Anyone have experience with the Aqua Sphere Ironman speedsuit. It looks like that is the only even close to my pricepoint. Just wondering if it is worth it . Can't wait to see you guys on the course. It's getting close!! |

Extreme Veteran 546 Oakland, Florida | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Florida : Official Thread What is 5 degrees among friends! The Weather Channel the weather. com. It now has risen to 89 and humidity went up 13% from 50 to 63%. I would plan on high 80's up to low 90's and we should be covered. Right now it would just be helpful if the humidity stayed the way it has the last couple of days. It has been nice. I don't know if I would count on that! Either way it will be great day for a race.

Can't speak to Florida specifically but in my past Ironman history it is not "truly manadory". They just say that to cover their butt because that is where the rules, safety, changes, etc... are discussed and you are responsible for that info. However, they never have checked who was there at my other events. |

Member 31 | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Florida : Official Thread What are your experiences trisuit vs wetsuit vs swimsuit, etc.... I've never been in a race where I wore a wet suit so this will be my second race in my Tyr Split two piece. It means slathering on the sunscreen between events (cheers to the pale and pasty) but it's worth not trying to change clothes like my hubby's doing. |
