Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ironannekidd - 2010-03-06 1:42 PM Oh Ghoulies, what a difference a day makes. Yesterday was absolutely SUCKTASTIC! Today, absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Got groceries this morning, with the kids. They were both on their best behavior, I love when they're able to be bribed. They both were great and were rewarded for it. They went away with their dad at 11:00. I headed to the running shoe store. I have not done a great job picking out my own running shoes so I went to a specialty store for help. They were great. The owner of the store was there, he had a nice M-dot tattoo on his very nicely defined calf. I had my gait analyzed. Then the girl that was helping me brought over 9 pairs of shoes for me to try on. It took awhile but I had it narrowed down to 2. I went with the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10. I got them for $105, but I'm a VIP member at Road Runner sports, so if I really like them I can get another pair for $89.00 + free shipping. When I got home it was 53 beautiful degrees out. I got all my stuff together and I went on a bike ride. It was G R E A T!!! I even added a small loop in the one area to put me at just over 22 miles. There was a little bit of wind, but I didn't mind it. It just felt SO good to be outside on my bike. It is supposed to be warm and sunny for the next 4 days so I plan on putting in a lot of miles then. The sinuses are still a bit stuffed, so I think I'll postpone swimming until the end of the week when it's raining and hoping the sinuses are cleared up by then. Got home for the ride and did a little 2 mile run. Liked the shoes, legs were wobbly. I just took a hot bath. Now I'm going to have a snack and take a short nap while the house is quiet. I hope everyone else is having an enjoyable day. Glad you had a good day!! ![]() |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Got my bike done (indoor drainer still) then 3-4 hours of hauling brush and mostly cutting saw briar in the mud. Guys got to burn 8 massive piles of brush and I made a mud-angel. No pictures, it didn't turn out so well. Best part, I conned my DD into making one too! |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good afternoon/evening Ghoulies! My, my, my, were you a productive bunch today. All you Little Lebowski Urban Achievers were making me feel like a chump so I went out for a nice and brisk 4 mile run. I pushed WAY harder than I was planning to, but it felt good and I'm glad I did. I followed that with a nice little ST session and my first date with my new foam roller. The best news of all is that with my ST session today, I now have 5 colors on my weekly training log summary for the first time EVER! That feels really good ![]() Edited by iowagander 2010-03-06 5:54 PM |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() EVENING GHOULIES. watched all the members come in with smiling faces and sunglasses while i languished behind the desk at the Y. LOL. it was spectacular today....but not as warm as predicted. i doubt that i wouldve gotten out on my bike anyways. though. i did get invited to participate in the MS150 on a team of friend of mine at the Y....and i took him up on his offer. i just submitted to get the days off. that means that my entire race schedule is gonna change this season which i gladly REARRANGED. there was something about the whole schedule that was weighing on me. it felt more like a HAVE TO than a WANT TO. so.... i decided. to only choose those events that i FEEL like doing.....one of them being the 150. have a score to settle w that course and im really looking forward to riding on a different team than last years utterly disasterous experience. 3 hours of spin today. i felt good. not great. but good enough. i was hoping to get a short swim in afterwards, but ended up running an easy mile on the track instead. the Chrissie Wellingtonesque tri suit fit perfectly and worked soooo well. i love the cut of the suit.....im so glad i shelled out the xtra cash. we'll im off to hang w the boys. later Ghoulies. stacieb |

Good job on keeping up with training while the elder-children you work with have tantrums. Anne, glad you took off and took care of you. I am going to hop on the trainer before the rest of the family shows up to spend the day at the lake shore mud wrestling and burning piles of crapola. We still have a lot to clean up. Talk at you later. Have wonderful days Ghoulies. Still cleaning up the shoreline I see. Can I have some of the mud to throw at my staff? |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yucky run today. Allergies (to mud I guess) made it almost impossible to breathe. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I have the day off so I can try for my long run then. Guess I am not destined to be a professional mud wrestler! I am having dinner at a friends house tonight, that should help make things all better! Enjoy your evenings, Ghoulies |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Happpy Sunday Ghoulies! I just got back a bit ago from volunteering at Gran Fondo San Diego, a big bike event here. My aid station was 10 miles from the end of the 52 and 100 mile courses. Conditions today were RAINY and slick, but they estimated 2800 people showed up to ride anyway. One guy even did the 52 mile course on a unicycle! We had a couple medical issues and plenty of mechanicals. I pumped a lot of tires, racked a lot of bikes so their riders could go potty, and even helped secure a loose stem or two. All in all a very good day and it was really cool to be on the "volunteer" side of a race. Bill, one of the riders who stopped at our station was on a Salsa roadie. Are you still going after the Salsa for your Cross bike? This guy had a lot of good things to say about their Cross bikes. Check my album for a pic of this guy's roadie. Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() givemashot - 2010-03-06 11:04 AM Just got home from the annual swim clinic the local tri club puts on. It was lovely. I even drug my ubby with me (he was not nice this morning when I made him get up, either). we both enjoyed it thoroughly. I was even used as the vanna white of swimming a couple times. LOL. I was there to learn what to do, but it's nice to get the pat on the back. ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, and the bike is still in spearate pieces--but I think I convinced hubby to take it to the LBS instead of puting it together himself. It will get done faster that way. OK, so I am off to shower and get ready for work. I might stop by late tonight when I get home. Yeah! How fun!! And good luck with your bike! |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well, I bit the bullet. I now have a brand new road bike! 2010 Trek 2.1 WSD Shimano 105 for the shifters, front (triple) and rear (10 speed) derailleurs. tiagra brakes. women's design seat and handlebars which seem to fit me great. The handlebars especially are really comfy compared to the Giant Avail 1 and the Specialized Dolce Elite that were my other front runners. I had also checked out Felt ZW series. I will post pictures later. |
