Got home last night and had one hour to get in a swim and eat dinner before I had to be to an appointment. I don't know if it was because I was feeling rushed and was trying harder or what but I set a new lap PR. Not that the time was anything miraculous for most people, but it was about 5 seconds faster then my previous PR. I did 11 quick laps with a rest break in between and all but one was faster than my previous PR. I guess I haven't been pushing hard enough in my workouts. Time to switch up my routine and push a little harder.

By the time I got home from my appointment, it was after 10 so I didn't get my run in. Its going to be a busy couple of days to get in the needed workouts.

Planning on another ride during lunch. I'm working from home today so don't have to worry about changing and driving to the trail head so I'm going to do a run too. Swim planned for after work.

I really shouldn't procrastinate during the month. It makes for some busy days at the end of the month to try to catch up. I do enjoy the workouts though but its easy to overdo it and burn out if I'm not careful.

Paul, I went swimming last Saturday. I put it off so long in the day that when I checked online to see how many lap lanes they have on Saturday afternoons, I discovered that they close in an hour! I boogied on over there and got my workout done in record time. LOL

Rode some hills for about 25 minutes, then ran for about 20. Hope to get in a swim before the evening events start.

wgraves7582 - 2010-06-29 4:28 PM Howdy Team - We are 3 riding days from home and today was fun with a headwind for the majority of it.  Our last big day - just shy of 70 miles.  The rest of the week is around 50 max or so and we are just going to cruise on home!

I should end up with just over 1600 miles for June and around 1700+ for the whole tour.  I hope you guys had a great month of training and see you next month when I return to normal life!

Amazing!

I really don't want to jinx myself, but I've already thought it and I can't make it any worse by typing it out can I?

Tonight looks like a good night to make my Oasis route in sub one hour goal. 78 degrees, 50% humidity, winds of only 5 mph.

On the other hand, when was the last time I was even on my bike, ack!!

This is my last chance. Sure there's tomorrow, but what are my chances of making it then after going all out today?

Go for it today. Then if you don't make your goal, you get another chance tomorrow.

pdbman - 2010-06-25 11:18 AM Frustrating night last night. My wife and I were going to go to the gym but when I got home, she had to talk. Nothing against talking. I know you ladies have a need to talk and us guys need to listen but timing is a big thing. She talked right up until we had to leave to be able to get in a workout before the gym closes. Then I couldn't find my goggles (took them out of my bag to fit the stuff for my running race last weekend). By the time I finally found them, the pool was closing in 15 minutes. So we went to the high school track instead.
Couldn't the talking have waited until after the workout? What's up ladies? Can you help me understand this?

Coming from one of the "ladies"....I would have to say if you had plans to go workout then that is what should have come first....UNLESS what she needed to talk about was important to her and something she could not put off until later.  Did you actually listen to what she was saying or were you stewing about missing your workout? If you were stewing and not paying attention I would say for next time asking her if you could sit down and talk after the WO so you can give her your full attention/ but then you need to do that! I am still waiting to talk to hubby about important issues that he keeps putting off. Good luck to you!

It was the daily "Let me tell you about my day." Which made me wonder why it had to be before instead of after the workout. I've found that if I suggest talking about it later, for whatever the reason, then she clams up and I suffer the consequences. I haven't figured out how to handle this type of situation yet.

What if you told her --- NOT when she approaches you for the 'daily talk,' but at a different time of the day --- that your workout time is really important to you.  And that you REALLY want to hear all about her day, but just not *before* your workout because when you get home from work, you need to de-stress and you do that by working out.  So if she can wait until AFTERWARDS, you won't be distracted, and you'll be able to focus on HER and listen to her better.

And now, I need to go taser myself.

Does that get me a tasing?  I haven't had one in ever so long.

Sounds like someone wants a tasing.

He does.  Which is why it's been withheld.

I mean, if someone WANTS to tasered, then isn't NOT tasering them more punishment than tasering them would be?

Or, maybe I'll just save up all his taser-taps, and then give him one realllllly big tasering when he least expects it.

Now that's a tasing worthy of king kong.

Phil posted that video awhile back.  It's been my favorite ever since.

D001 - 2010-06-27 1:15 PM How am I going to wog today?  It was 94 F this morning.  And now we're under a severe thunderstorm warning.  Sheesh....

BTW, I love thunderstorms.  It's like a giant taser.

You could go all Hamster and get on a dreadmill...  Me, I'm waiting until close to dark...

Yeah, I *used* to actually like the dreadmill.  Now, I just dread it.  I hate being hamster-like..... So yes, I'm waiting until dusk, too.  But I wanted to wog LAST night, and I didn't.  If I keep slacking off, I'm going to have to taser myself.

Sounds kinky.

Well, I wogged as planned, so I didn't have to taser myself.

Oh wait, maybe I can go taser someone ELSE now.  Yeah, that would be nice.

Yeah, someone has been too lazy too busy to change the formulas on the spreadsheets.

WARMER????  Oh wait, you're in Utah.  Nevermind.

Around here, it's been at LEAST 95 F every day.

Taser them.

(There shouldn't be anything in the "totals" column for them.  So their NAMES are on the spreadsheet, but their info isn't being included in any of the calculations.  In other words, their non-participation shouldn't affect any of the team numbers.)

Kick them out!!!  That's my vote...

Can we at least taser them prior to kicking them?
