I posted my RR from yesterday on my way home earlier. I forgot to mention in the excitment of refreshing ironman.com...haha

(I don't know if my tech skillz work to get it to the RR)

Also....my brother came 3rd in his AG in the sprint yesterday and 6th OA in the sprint. He almost was DQ'ed because he swore when he got into the water...but apparently a bunch of people were swearing while going into the 10C water...who would have thought? Haha. He came up to me slightly p'ed off about this and I told him to go appeal to an official...apparently they let him back in? Haha. So ya...we both have bronze medals...haha

I have a pancake bfast tomorrow at school!! YAY!!! So excited.

Well as I mentioned before: I have officially registered for Carlsbad...(thanks for the friendly reminder Robin...I registered and then saw it...but it was useful nonetheless...) Flights are more or less the same deal as before. I might just say "I'll take a 0 on the MSK quiz on Fri afternoon" and come earlier in the day...because I doubt I will be able to have it fully excused...we will see though. 70ppl from my class just took a 0 on the quiz from Friday and they haven't been kicked out of medicine...so in theory I should be fine? But then I haven't 100% decided on not going to provincials...or in general when I am going to stop swimming to start up IM training...

My cousin reminded me today that I will be 23 in a month and 5 days...aka...I will be running a marathon in a month and 5 days...ackkK! It has come up so quickly! I was living in the delusion that I still had 6 weeks...Good thing I have a 28km and a 30km under my belt. I will probably do a 32-33km this week, next week is a trail half marathon and then my final 34-36km the weekend after that...then taper for the marathon...need to get some good hill runs in there too...maybe a few speed sessions...

Swimming starts up tomorrow night. Found out who the coach is. I went to high school with him and he swam with the other big club in the city. We get along...so that is a plus! Woohoo! No awkward Jim to deal with for 5-6mo. Haha. I'm really excited to see the girls again. One is in grade 12 and one just started college. Its nice to be around them after a day at school because they come up with the most hilarious things sometimes--sometimes I feel like I'm just being immature with them...but then I don't really care...because it is just hilarious.

First real week of school (real=full 5 days). 8am lecture tomorrow. But pancakes makes that better!....

I am also meeting with my supervisor on Wed to discuss my summer...aka...I'm supposed to update him...I'm going to have to filter through everything tomorrow to be able to effectively update him. I have also received info on the conference I have been voluntold that I am presenting at. Kinda worried...its a western canadian kidney symposium with big deal people in kidneys coming...kidneys kidneys kidneys...

Ya...I know its a lot...and I will try to be more present in the upcoming time period! I promise!

Just because I just remembered I read it earlier:

To the snow mongerer: Batman is the GREATEST! (I will honestly say I'm not entirely certain I would have worn a Batman backpack when I was 14 so kudos to your daughter because that is awesome...haha...Val Kilmer was my fav batman. (I love Val). But Batman in general is awesome...there is just so much bad a$$ intrigue surrounding Bruce Wayne...*sigh. I certainly see what your daughter sees in him...haha...her support is much greater than mine probably would have been.

The race went far better than I hoped for.  And it was one of the most painful, difficult things I've ever done, but sooooo worth it.

I couldn't have done it without all of your support. And I'm not gonna lie, coming back and reading the thread may have brought a little tear to my eye.  Briefly, for like a split second.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

While I love my gouhlie brother and sister, I will have to check back for RR's tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow. Really. I am aiming for tomorrow. Yep. I wil lbe back tomorrow. (See a theme here?)

Hubby comes home briefly tomorrow before his business trip. I think he has decided to stay home overnight. Undecided I am not a fan of his schedule this week, to say the least. My mom in law is doing well. She doesn't seem to understand what to do when her blood sugar is 250 and she just took some insulin (she opted to eat a salad drenched with ranch dressing), but otherwise she's doing really well. She is much happier at home than she was at the hospital. Thanks again for the well wishes.

After a week of doing nothing, which is exactly what you want when you are 8 weeks out from a marathon, right? I am getting back to running tonight. My son has soccer practice so I will run while he practices.

I plan on easing back into it.

Saturday I was pretty busy, yesterday I crashed. I didn't even get dressed until afternoon. I'm at work today unfortunately.

Glad you seem to be on the mend.  Ease yourself back into training. You don't want to relapse.

Weekend was fun. Went down to the shore with my girl gang.  Had a nice day on the beach Saturday and got a bit of ocean swimming in. Sunday, I sherpa'd for them while they did a sprint tri. It's a race I don't particularly enjoy, so I volunteered for pup duty (a 60lb lab and miniature long haired dachsund).

Had an amazing sight the morning of the race was while we were driving onto the island.  NYC skyline in the background and twin tower lights shining across the bay. Pretty incredible.

A girl weekend is good.

Their is a dachsund in my puppy obedience class. My Great Dane puppy grows the size of a dachsund every week.

wgraves7582 - 2010-09-13 7:53 AM Our pool opened back up so I celebrated with some new jammers and goggles.  I look like a real swimmer (walking to the edge but then revert back to non-swimmer as soon as I enter the water!)

There are plenty of non-swimmers at the Y who are in the lanes. One guy walks as far as he can down the lane, then when it drops off he'll doggie paddle to the wall at the other end. He'll hang out there for a few minutes then doggie paddle back to where he can touch and walk back. Lather rinse repeat for an hour. Sometimes he'll even walk on his hands part of the way down the lane. Odd.

Nope - just cannot bring myself to wear anything but jammers.  Must be the quiet side of me - LOL

Well, as The Most you are known to have a quiet confidence.
