Hehe, I was just thinking, I'm too fat to be type 1 diabetic. Laughing

Unless I have a type 1 + hypothyroid combo...

I laugh because I have been managing my symptoms with regular feedings and quick response to symptoms. I will make an appointment to find the problem. Funny thing about people ihn the health feild is that they don't always take care of themselves and need external prompting.

Thanks for your help Judi!

You are quite welcome.

Sad but true comment about those of us in the health field.  My asthma flare that prompted the need for the levaquin....yeah....cause I decided 4 years of allergy shots were enough.  Cause I was following the rules on my "numbers" for the peak flow......
My injury.....avoided the doc until I couldn't put weight on my leg......I didn't run more than a mile between my July 25 oly and the attempt to run early August.  It was a few days after that when I got out of bed and felt my leg shred.

QueenZipp - 2010-11-07 12:37 PM I got another 30 minutes on my pretty bike today.  WOWSA it was C-O-L-D out there!!

How cold was it? We got down to -3 at our coldest so far. Isn't it supposed to be coming into summer over there?

It's just about 50 degrees out but pretty windy....I am just a wimp about cold & wid.  My thyroid function comes from a bottle so my tolerance for cold is limited.

I am in Virginia.....not Australia Wink

Hypothyroid?

My mom has the same thing and I am on watch for mine. I have a slightly abnormal test result but it's apparently not big enough to get on pills yet. Since I'm 25 now I don't think I will have to regulate it, but I guess I will have to wait and see.

I have strange symptoms lately that are related to type 1 diabetes, but it's definatly too late for that since it appears in childhood. I'm not sure what it is... maybe thyroid.

I am hypERthyroid - and don't be fooled into thinking because it includes weight loss rather than gain its a fun place to be. I was super hyper, had the shakes, racing heart, wanted to puke/pass out when I exercised, lost muscle tone and overheated badly all the time until I realised was diagnosed with Graves disease. I had myself convinced that I was making excuses for myself and I was fine, and Im sure I only caught it so early because it had such an effect when training. All under control now though

I have been losing weight - and while I know its partly because Ive been eating less crap, part of it is because of my tummy condition...

Now when Im on medication for it I put on a lot of weight FAST... but right now the weight loss is a symptom and while Im stoked to finally loose some more of the 'medicine' weight I also find I feel light headed, tired etc

I think weight loss OR gain when its medical in particular is not a fun place to be!

There's a problem with the current anorexia issue where people who are hyperthyroid stop taking their medication to lose weight. Very sad.

Are you kidding me?! Thats crazy! I am now very much at the stage where if I lose more weight than I think I should have (sometimes I drop a few kg for fighting etc) I start to worry that my meds are off and its my thyroid.

Actually, I have a friend who I love dearly but she is overweight and very misguided in her attempts to lose and won't listen to advice so I have given up. Anyway, a little while ago she decided it wasn't her fault but she must actually be hypothyroid and told me on the phone that she wasn't as lucky as me and had the type that caused you to gain weight. I just hung up. She doesn't have anything wrong with her thyroid anyway, her doc told her to stick with the diet and exercise...I could have told her that.

It is... he ran track and cross country all through middle school and high school so i know my pace is really slow for him but it means a lot that he'll come run with me.  He's going to run a half marathon with me next year

Good morning Crushers!

I finally finished my scarf! Not without excitement though... I was watching a you tube video on how to cast off and the way it was demonstrated caused me to do the final stitch wrong - which means no knot and scarf starts to unravel! I'm so happy this thing is finally done.

Oh, and yesterday was Coke free!

Morning everyone - after a LONG weekend I am finally checking back in.

Parents were in town so we left friday night to go to the lake - spent a gorgeous saturday on the lake fishing and then was exhausted when we got home.

Got up yesterday and did an 11 mile run - gotta love my dad commenting that "I wasn't going very fast" but when I offered him to come with me he was like "no way".  Mom was refilling the gatoraide bottle with 2 miles left to go and seemed to be out at the mail box everytime I stopped for fuel/hydrate. Gotta love her.

Spent yesterday with a cheat day (all you can eat shrimp at Red Lobster) and then Mom and I made home made white bread - I now have 1.5 loaves (we ate the other 1/2 warm out of the oven) so I am afraid to step on the scale today especially my lovely Aunt shows up this week.  (

Heading to update the spreadsheet now.
