No. I make my kids and wife work so I can sit on the computer all day when I'm not training . j/k. I'm up between 4:30-5:00 most days of the week to do my morning workout and then I workout at lunch either running or swimming. The weekends are my long days with 3+ hours of workouts that I typically start around 8 on Saturdays and around 11 or so on Sundays. The evenings and rest of weekends are spent with the family. It has worked for the most part over the last 2 years.

I do go to bed between 8:30-9 every night including the weekends too. Seems as if all of my family is zapped by that time of night.

Looking forward to the road status report though.

Good time managment!

I thought many of those logs were weekly logs....but after looking back, I think they are monthly logs.   Weekly I am at 3 swim, 90 bike, and 24 run.  Will have to change things up as little league, Track and 4H are ramping up.

S: just under 22k yards; B: 16:52 hrs, all on a trainer. So 0 miles... R: 80.46 mi.

March looks to be a big jump in bike time, run probably nears 100mi for the month and haven't looked to see what swimming does...

Use Trainerroad.com it'll do miles for you :-)

I didn't know that. Where can you see the miles in trainer road?

Go to Trainerroad.com > Career > Click on a ride you did > Download. It saves it as a TCX file, that file can be uploaded to Training Peaks, Mapmyrun.com. I think there are some other TCX online viewers or TCX converters. Convert the TCX to GPX and you can upload it to Dailymile.com

Hope that helps.

The TCX can also be uploaded to your log here on BT, just click on the "upload" button on your calendar and select "Manual upload", then select the TCX file.  BT takes the time and speed data and calculates the distance.

Good day everyone!

True....trainer miles are not road miles.  I believe Full IM endurance is 50% to 75% Mental Endurance.  For me, visualizing trainer work as miles gets me there.   We are all different.

A beautiful day in Cda today....see you on the road:-)

60 miles in today. Not going to say how long it took.. but yeah . I bonked after 40 because i didnt bring anything besides 50oz of Gatorade (180 calores) and a Gu gel.. 100 calories.  First 30 went great, 2nd 30 was headwind headwind and some more headwind.

I did 50 on the trainer today and another 4.5 miles or so running post trainer ride.  Everything felt really great today. Power/speed on the bike is increasing. Run is getting faster and the swim is getting faster. it is nice to finally start to see that the training is paying off with my pace getting faster yet my heart rate is staying the same.

I have 1:40 run followed by maybe hour ride tomorrow that I'll do the ride outside around my neighborhood.

Ouch....Dead legs.   I road one loop of the bike course yesterday.  Was pretty excited and started out hard, then barely had enough to make it home.  Was not paying attention to nutrition either.   While the wind was mild on the way out, it does wear on you.  Road conditions are quite good.  Traffic was loud, lots of Harleys out enjoying the sun.  This was my first time on this course.   Definately not like the old course out to Ohio Match Rd.   Saw about a dozen other riders on the course.   Lots more on the road to higgins and back.

Might do 40 today on the course, but will take it a little easy as tomorrow is a long swim/run day.

Enjoy today as it rains tomorrow.

I finally got my bike off the trainer and went outside to ride.  The first 28 miles were great but then I had to turn around and face an awful headwind as well.  It was a good reminder how important the aero position is.

Sloppy trail run suday.  Boy was it muddy, but wonderful to be out in the sun in shorts!

Little brick today then the build weeks start again.

Let's hope spring is here.  I'm ready to get off the trainer.

Long weekend of training, but feeling good.  Did a strong 13 mile trail run Saturday at my best pace ever (still not fast, but fast for me) and then pulled a century yesterday since it was in the mid 60's here in North East Ohio.  The headwinds were definitely here as well!

Was definitely a good weekend to get outside, got in an awesome 9 mile run yesterday in shorts.  Been running outside pretty much all year, all weather conditions but, really looking forward to outside workouts on the bike.

Hey I was raised in GR, but moved to Idaho years ago.  I was living in GR in early 1980s when we used to watch re-runs of the Hawaii Ironman competition......who knew I would eventually enter an IM event.

How is training in ole GR in the winter....I bet wet, white and cold.

Last day on two planks yesterday (skiing) and it was a powder day.  Amazing.

Now its time for me to get serious about IM training.  Coach has a 4 hr hilly ride for both Saturday and Sunday.  Game on, kids.

60 miles on the bike yesterday followed by an hour run. The wind was brutal out of the north. I rode a twenty mile loop so 10 in, 10 out. My legs felt great out on the run. Nutrition was perfect. I was pacing for a HIM PR. Nice to see all of that time this winter paying dividends.

Just had a little panic moment when I looked at my full training plan and realized there are less than 15 weeks left....

On the plus side I did a 1700m (per my plan) swim this morning with a 500TT to gauge where I am at for a race I have at the end of the month and swam a 7:10.  That's a full minute faster than my best previous 500 and the crazy thing is, todays TT was in a meter pool, my best 500 was in a yard pool last year at the same race.

Nice.  I got in my firs outdoor bike of the year, pedaled home from work, only about 14 miles but the wind was brutal.  The worst of it was the last mile, up doomsday hill with a headwind!

On another note, anyone interested in running the course this Sunday?  It's not enough over my schedule distance to bother me one bit and I would love to get an early stab at it.

Woke up this morning and my right knee was on fire - couldn't straighten my leg and could hardly walk - WTF?  My ACL area felt a little sore after a high cadence trainer ride on Saturday and I cut my 4-hour ride on Sunday down to two hours because I could feel the stress and didn't want to injure it. Monday it was sore, but it was nothing that would have stopped me from running, although all I had scheduled was Masters swim.

This morning I got out of bed and almost fell on my face - right knee just collapsed.  If I walk on tip-toe I can get around, but as soon as I straighten my leg or move laterally it just gives out.  Glad this is a recovery week, looks like I'll have to take maximum advantage of it.  Doesn't feel like anything is torn, just inflamed and weak - hopefully I can at least swim, I'll find out at Masters tomorrow.

That sounds pretty rough. Maybe you have some tendenitits.

We just got cold and ice here in Michigan today.  I have a 2 hour trainer workout tonight.  Looks like I'll be stuck inside till another good warm up comes around along with rain to wash all the salt away that is on the roads.

take Fish oil threw out the day to help the inflammation. I "try" to take 1 in the morning and 2 before bed. But my awesome memory doesn't always allow that to happen
