They have been touring through Greenville a couple of months ago and I missed it...  That sounds great.... I am a show junky. I was in New York a while back for 4 or 5 days and saw two shows....

What shows did you see?

The Producers and Rent.

The Producers was an experience, because we didn't have a clue what we were getting into. Being from Germany, I don't make fun of Hitler, Nazis etc. And there we sit, dancing Hitlers and whatever else on the stage and everybody had a blast... My friend and I were just sitting there with our mouths wide open...

The Producers is definitely a bit shocking!  More than a few jaws dropped when I went to see it.

ratkat - 2008-10-17 12:42 PM So... Are you all ready and excited for the race tomorrow???

Nervous... and still in disbelief that Im actually going to do it if Im honest...

Don't be nervous, you'll do great! We'll all be thinking about you

Well I think in future I might try signing up for a race in advance and training for it like a normal person... just a hunch that might have been a better idea

Sometimes the only way to go is to just jump in with both feet.  It leaves less time for doubt.

And then RENT was just great... I downloaded the music right away.

I really liked Rent too.  It ran the gamet of emotions.  Laughter to tears.  I thought the movie was well done too.  Every once in awhile I pop in the DVD and watch bits and pieces.

Never saw the movie... Listening to the music brings the stage pics back for me... And yes, it really was a rollercoaster of emotions... But I am a complete sissy, I start tearing up in a show in no time.

I find it difficult to train when I don't have a race in sight.  A race deadline is a driver to keep me motivated and it helps me set more solid goals.

I might try that strategy if tomorrow goes well.. Im kind of hoping fear will be a good motivator if i sign up for any more!

I made it to the gym and did an hour on the elliptical, 6.58 miles. It was hard to find the motivation at 9:45pm but I'm so glad I went. I'm going to get to bed by midnight so I can get up and run before another crazy day of work starts.

BTW, I was posting from the elliptical earlier. What a great way to pass the time!

That is skill.  I can't walk and chew gum at the same time.  I'd probably end up with a serious injury if I tried to text while on the elliptical!

Good Morning.

I will run tonight (3.5 miles) and complete my October challenge goal then, if nothing happens on the way. Then I want to do the initial test for the 100 push-ups in six week challenge. Tomorrow a hike is planned... Indian Summer is in full swing now, so we'll hike up "Looking Glass Rock" in the Pisgah National Forest (NC).
