Extreme Veteran 463 Fort Worth, TX | Subject: RE: tripletmom01 mentor group - FULL!!!!! TracyV - 2009-01-16 9:21 AM The only time I had panic set in was at the Door County tri last year. I didn't have a wetsuit on, first mistake. Then as I entered the course I was hit repeatedly by big rolling waves. I literally was gasping for air as I got pummeled by the waves. Had I had my wetsuit on I would have been fine. You CAN NOT sink in a wetsuit. It will flip you on your back. It is like wearing a big life preserver. It also gives you bouyance which puts you in perfect horizontal body position to swim through the water. I liken it to being like a seal. I am working on getting better horizontal body position in the water this winter and my catch. I tend to swim with straight arms and feet and legs dragging. At least that is what the video tape showed on Tuesday. I have a lot to work on! Hmmm. I guess I better get one |

Proud of you Tammy. Something I could never do. You ran 26 miles at a pace faster than I run 5 miles. Awesome. |

Sorry I've been MIA too. My boys are sick, and all they want me to do is sit on the couch so they can sleep on me. If I even attempt to get up, all hell breaks loose. I'm hoping we're on the back-end of this round of illness. It really puts a crimp in my schedule. ~Jennifer |

What an awsome run! She takes 10 minutes off her previous time and moans because she was a lot less crampy than the other athletes! (You're funny Tammy - well done!) 26 miles -3'57" - bl**dy hell - it'd take me 30mins longer than that (and I'd need carried home!)and that's only in theory - furthest I've ever managed is 5 miles!!!! |

On the plus side the ankle biters seem to kick infection in half the time it takes us - you'll be free soon!

Veteran 136 | Subject: RE: tripletmom01 mentor group - FULL!!!!! I feel like bloody hell now though I'm originally from Hamilton, just south east of Glasgow and I think the phrase I'd be using is "to feel like SH1TE!" But what a hard course - round and round - you'll probably have motion sickness until Wednesday - and I think you're right about the lack of gradient - really tough on a body, when it's trained for "real life". (Not to mention the fact that it was running for 26 miles - yuch!) So what kind of mega-training session have you planned for tomorrow?! I keep meaning to ask - West Bend - I google mapped it - what is it the west bend of?! Edited by keefmac 2009-01-17 7:14 PM |

I'm going to be out of town next week for business so some minor home issues had to go right to the top of my list. We'll see how dedicated I am to losing weight next week when I'm in my favorite area for eating and not exercising. |

Regular 102 Northern Adirondacks | Subject: RE: tripletmom01 mentor group - FULL!!!!! I am all for the arrival of Spring and warmer weather and more of the outdoors. Although I did get to go snowboarding today for a bit. Just at the local mountain though and let me tell you....T-bars are NOT fun on a snowboard. I think I spent more time getting dragged up on my arse then riding down the hill Next week hopefully we'll make it to whiteface. |

Same way as the run- just do a warm up then a 30-40 min TT on the bike. YOu will have different reading when youare actually outside then when youare on the trainer. I cant get my HR as high inside |

Veteran 263 New Lenox, IL | Subject: RE: tripletmom01 mentor group - FULL!!!!! Official weigh in this morning. Down another pound that's three overall and two since I really started It's not as high as I would have liked but I haven't kept completely to the schedule so I'll take what I can get. It's going to be a very busy summer as I try to squeeze in all my goals for the year. I'm going to have to take a hard look at when I can get every thing scheduled and try and sneak extra training time in where ever I can. |
