mmmmm, snowman poop is delicious.

Greetings from Boston here for a few day at a conference with family in tow.  Training and eating has been bad yesterday, today and likely tomorrow.  Back on the stick monday.  What's annoying is that I am right in central boston and the river is about a mile away and its warm enough to get outside.  I can envision a great 5-7 loop that I cannot run due to meetings, parental reqs etc.  happy weekend all

Did I miss Bob's birthday or was that joke?  If it is real, Happy Birthday, Bob!

Using my gold membership, I asked the coaches what I should due during run workouts until my knee feels better.  They suggested that I hike/walk on the treadmill at inclines, as that would increase my endurance more than the elliptical and many triathletes aren't relying on simply run endurance during the run segment of a triathlon.  So, this morning I was scheduled for a 1:45 run, so I did a 1:45 walk at 5% to 10% inclines.  It was quite hard!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.  Most of us probably have Monday off, so enjoy!

I guess I should put my Valentine's candy down since there is a prize to win for the weight challenge.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Kicked off my 30 week training program for IMMOO today!  Good to be on an organized plan again.  Making up stuff as I go along is NOT my style.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi folks!  Back after a long weekend away skiing.  Great sunny days and the snow was good even though we had some pretty warm and rainy days last week in central NY.  Managed to squeeze a run in yesterday afternoon after skiing but my legs were pretty mad at me for making them go through that!

Got another sunny day here today--4 days in a row is unusual for this area.  I did a swim with the Masters group this morning and plan to ride the bike at lunch.

Happy Belated Birthday Bob!!  Hopefully you feasted well at your birthday dinner!

Hey guys!  I used an internet coach towards the end of last year and had some decent results.  I see that some of you guys have silver and gold memberships with BT.  I was thinking about signing up with the same coach, but the price for BT is significantly less.  For those that have taken advantage of the training plans offered by BT, what was your overall impression?

The training plans on BT are very solid and the coaches are great at responding to questions. I would highly recommend them. I used the marathon plan for my first marathon and was very pleased. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Sweet pictures.  I rode my trainer the other day during the prolog.  It was kind of fun trying to keep pace with their cadence.  My wife called me a nerd!  Sadly I just nodded my head in agreement.

I don't think that pounds lost due to the runs (vs. from running) count.  I think you need to put a few lbs. back on twinracer's tally!

Yes Tim, there is a NeverReach to the winner of the contest. In your case there will also be a slightly used pair of gray tri shorts!! Do you need a picture of them?

Nice job George!! Keep the weights coming in. I went a notch or two in the wrong direction but will bring it back down when I find my MOJO!

No races this weekend, just running the kids around and working on more house projects. I do need to find a spare 5 hrs to get training in somewhere. I'll be escaping to the basement this evening for a 2-3 hr spin.

I just finished a 3 hour trainer ride.  I allowed myself to order a movie On Demand to keep from going too crazy.  I've slacked off the last couple of weeks due to the knee injury and then a sinus infection.  I have to get back into training mode!  My goal for this week is to finish all workouts on the training plan.  No excuses!  Also, I'm going to try running tomorrow morning.  I'm crossing my fingers that my knee doesn't hurt too bad after the run.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Happy sunday night to everyone... spent the weekend in VT skiing for the first time since 1996.  The first few runs were a bit dicey but the old muscles remembered better than I though they would.  Man am I in pain tonight.  But I did get on the trainer for an hour.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Anyone got anything good on tap for next week?

Jeff, glad you made it back safe and sound!! I'm sure your legs are appreciating the trainer ride after torturing them on the slopes all weekend!

Barb, congrats on a looooooong trainer ride. I hope you're able to enjoy your run tomorrow and your knee feels no pain!!

I got my first 10 hr training week in of the year thanks to a 13.5 mi run in the snow tonight!

Light training weekend for me.  My middle son Tommy had a wrestling tournament all day saturday and then we did a couple of hours of skiing this morning.  The conditions were good but there was a wet snow coming down that got us soaked on the lifts.  We all agreeded to call it quits at lunch.

Got a quick run in tonight on the treadmill.  This week will be a little sketchy on how much training I will be doing.  Need to drive to Rochester tomorrow for a Dr. appt for my oldest son Jeremy and then will be traveling to Virginia on Wed and Thurs for work.  Hope to get a run in while I am there but it is likely that I will get a rest day on at least one of those days.  Oh well, next week will be another week!

Everyone have a good Monday!

George

What up gang?  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I ran the running leg of an off road winter tri (run, kayak, bike) this past weekend.  The run is listed @ 7 miles but I think it was probably closer to 7.25 to 7.5 miles.  I went out too fast and faded towards the end.  I was kind of kicking myself about the fade, but the relay team I was on took first so that kind of tood some of the sting out of the fade.  Yesterday was a wind fest so I opted for the mountain bike as opposed to the road.  I got in close to 20 miles, but around the mid point I clipped a tree and tumbled over the handle bars.  Between the hard race effort and taking the tumble yesterday I feel like I've been beat with a board!  I was going to swim @ lunch today, but I think today will be sit on my butt day!
