Just back from Cali and my swim has no shot but I should be 100% in the other facets of this lovely challenge.

Be back later - have to do some work now - boooooooo

Where were you in CA?

LA and then I headed up to Big Bear Lake - AWESOME!!!

Sounds like fun!  I will be visiting my sister in LA in Sept, and i get to do a 20 mile run while I'm out there!

You have an odd sense of what to look forward to...

I'm trying to psyche myself up for it!  Since I will be out of town that weekend, I'll be missing the 20-miler with my marathon training group, and they have a big party with tents and beer at the end of that training run Frown  So I will have to plan my own 20-mile party of 1 while I'm in Cali Wink

I am still a slacker but......

I got first in my age group at a sprint tri this past weekend!!!!

More info later.

Congrats! Sounds like some of us had a great weekend racing. Good job!
And you're right, this was a totally awesome toppage!

*sigh* I wish I had a great weekend race.  We were signed up for a duathlon (5k, 30k, 5k).  Our babysitter, aka my sister, showed up 20 mins late.  And she lives 5 mins from us.  Picture me pacing our driveway checking my watch every 3 seconds.  Getting more and more pissed.

So.... we didn't make the race. Ugh.

Off with her head!!!!

mmm beer.

Your 20 mile training run sounds like fun.  Always better to run with like-minded peeps for motivation.

Swim today!  Had to take the kid to the doc this morning, which took longer than expected.  Planned to go in to work at least 1/2 a day, but when I called my boss to update him, he told me to stay home with him   My boss rocks.  So.. I had the opportunity to have a lap lane all to myself this afternoon while Miles played and played in the kids gym.  He likes the kids gym.

Well, I'm finally in Pitsburgh.  so far today I have had several protein bars - but no lunch or supper.  You know, lots of those things make your stomach kind of uneasy.  I better go get some carbs, even though I haven't worked out since Saturday.  Hmm.

I know!  I'm sad I'll be missing it!!  I was looking up if there was anything similar in LA that weekend, but unfortunately the LA marathon is in March, so none of the marathon training groups even meet yet!  I'm trying to see if I can get someone to ride their bike with me while I run... Maybe they can even pass me a beer every few miles Wink

SLACKER ESCAPE ROUTE!

Yes, this month, you've got an escape route from being a slacker.

There are no 'limits' for your goals.

Thunderstorms impacting your swim schedule? Get on the treadmill instead.

If you're at 0% on one goal, just make it to 200% on another - and you'll still hit 100% at the end of the month.

Why am I doing this? Who knows. Probably because I only want to do activities that allow me to park myself in front of the TV set and watch Versus 24/7.

I wish I could call in "sick" tomorrow so I can watch the live coverage, but I have to be at work! I am SO upset!

I got a yoga class in tonight, as well as a massage!  I just got home and had a burrito and a beer.  Oooh, I also have some cheese curds I got in Wisconsin while I was up there this weekend!

Hmmm, I could get used to recovery week Tongue out

Well that will help with my swim goal that probably won't get done by the end of the month.

Taking a day off today.  Our neighbors called us around 8pm last night to join them on their deck for "one" margarita.   So we went over for that "one" margarita.  Three hours later, my wife and I stumbled home.  Good times, but not so fun today!

You need to go for a run and sweat it out...  Back in my restaurant manager days, when one the cooks would show up in the morning with a hangover, they got to cook the bacon and fry the chips...  It was a sure cure...

Don't you know, the best cure for a hangover is a 60 mile bike ride?  (I found this out last summer!)

Wow!  3hrs on a trainer!  I've only ever done that once, and it was during a Superbowl bike trainer party.  So it involved drinking beer while watching the superbowl w/friends.  And I took a snack break at halftime for some brats and nachos.

No beer and no Super Bowl - only Jason Bourne movies and water...
