The hardest part of this whole new peleo thing.  It's not the cravings.  I don't usually have issues with that.  It's just breaking the habit of grabbing something quick to snack on.  The usualy stuff.  Like a bag of chips or candy bar.  I find myself reaching, then having to check myself.  Once I get out of the unconsious grabbing the crap, I will be good.

My Dad is having that very same issue - he is trying to lose 20lbs or so. Mom says "he does so great at breakfast and lunch, but then gets home from work and eats half a bag of chips" -

I immediately said "so stop buying chips??"

Now my mom is a smart cookie but she was like "hmm I guess I could do that". But she is a total people pleaser so will probably continue to buy the chips to make my dad happy... crazy.

I have the same bad habits, especially at places like my parents who stock every kind of chip ever made. And there is ALWAYS some kind of candy since my mom is diabetic and needs to have quick sugar options available. Habits are hard to break!!

Yeah, it's weird.  I'm SO used to going to the snack room and grabing some doritos or a candy bar.  Or looking into the pantry and at home and grabbing the bag of whole/multi grain chips the wife buys...  I need to slap my own hand and say "no processed junk"...  Then look in the FRIDGE for fruit or vegies.

I'm just hungery and I don't really care what I eat, just habitually grab the bag of something instead of healthy.  I have to be on my toes.

Eat more healthy fats for snacks ... that will curb your hunger.

I'm eating my wife's almonds.   She is not pleased.  Well, she's pleased I'm eating well, but not pleased because it's all her healthy food.

Bad bad huzbee!

Longer goal .. try to not need snacks.  Eat enough at your meals and break the snacking habit.  It can be done once you are in the groove of the diet and your body is adjusting and you find the magic formula of food quantity!

Let me clarify.  I try to eat 5-6 times a day.  breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper.  I just call them snacks...  It keeps me from skipping breakfast and lunch and gorging at dinner.

I got the GOOD news from my tax guy today .. I made a big, irresponsible boo boo in 2010 and thought it was going to cost me big but he worked miracles and what I have to pay is "pennies" compared to what it could have been.  Woo Hoo!   Now on to 2011's mess ... let's hope for the same outcome.

PSA: Procrastination is not good in any area of your life, my people!  Trust me.  Take care of your business whether it be relationship issues, work woes, finances, home repairs... anything.  Otherwise it will weigh heavy on you  .. in my case for a couple of years.  I've learned many valuable lessons in the last 10 days about letting go and getting sh*t done.

BEWBS!  Carry on.

You can afford to buy us drinks now!

Excellent!  I am down to 2 or 3 meals a day (strive for 3 but usually it's 2 big ones) with a drive by handful of grapes from the fridge snack moment.  Sometimes I even forget to eat .. crazy, huh?

I used to do that a lot, particularly in grad school.  I would go for days with having next to nothing to eat.  Now I try for 5 - 6 smaller meals/snacks during the week.  Weekends I will still forget to eat until hubby tells me to come eat my dinner.
