Swam last night and this morning to get to 73% of my goal. I'm going away for the weekend, but I'll definitely hit my goal next week, and maybe even go over if I get an extra swim in. Great job everyone - you guys are really inspiring me to get to the pool.

Katie

I have two swims planned for this weekend - one of them may be monster-sized as I am swimming with people who are more awesome than I. That should put a huge dent in things.

kns57 - 2008-02-22 9:17 AM Okay TEAM SWIMMING ROCKS. We as a team are at 71% and should be at 76%. Hope to see a lot of swimming getting done this weekend. We have a lot who are aiming to go past the 100%. That is awesome. Let's get out there and inspire those who are lagging behind. Co-captain Mila has been under the weather big time. Give her good thought for quick healing.

Thank you, Kendra.  All good thoughts/vibes/tribal healing dances/etc. are very much appreciated.

I had a tough week at work, but I promise, I will swim my heart out this weekend! I should be back on track by Sunday. I'll be aiming for 120% for the month!

Unfortunately, there are going to be huge waves at the beach this weekend so I'll have to do pool-only swims...bummer...

Got another 50 minutes in.  I had purchased the Total Immersion book earlier in the week, and so spent this workout working on floating.  What I learned: I do not float.  I kept trying to float on my back and my legs would drift down to the bottom of the pool   Every time.  I would end up doing lovely back bends with my head and shoulders still floating and my legs touching the floor of the pool.  Any advice on how to float?

I got another 2000 in this morning.  I plan on another 2K or so tomorrow morning and then Saturday as well. That's my plan :-)

Great job. I challenge you to 3500 on your next workout. Keep it coming, and great job.

OH NO!!!!  I thought this challenge was 3200. UGH!!!! I only did 3200, which, btw, is the longest I've ever swam, and it has brought me up to about 99%, although the spreadsheet says 100%.

Here I thought I MET your challenge.  Sorry, but thanks for challenging me to up my yards. I've been sitting pretty at 2000-2500 for a while.

I just pulled myself up to 90%! I did 2800 in the pool...endurance and then drills...25 fast, 25 recover etc. I felt good. Next swim is on Monday and then another on Thursday which should put me over 100% Yeh!

Keep on going! I hope that we get out of 2nd place!

I'm one swim away from reaching my goal with at least three more swims on tap before the end of the month, so I'll be over 100% as well.

Got 800M in yesterday morning to get me to 100% of my goal. Will be swimming at least twice and hopefully 3 times next week!

These challenges are awesome (especially with a great team like this)! Can already think of one or two I'd like to do next month.

Good job on making it to the finals in your video Sarah!
I finally got in a swim after not swimming due to 2 weeks of a bad chest cold and bad weather which made it hard to get to the pool. I did a 50 min swim and am now up to 61% of my goal. I have to swim another 8 hours and 25 mins this week if I want to make my goal! Wish me luck and good job to the people that are swimming over 100% of their goal!

Alrighty then... I am cranky about that whole third place/portential avatar change thing.

Hey now, if I can suck it up and get in the pool while I'm... how did Kendra put it?  It sounded way nicer than it actually is... "under the weather big time", those of you who are behind on your swimming can get in there and move from one side to the other a buncha times to catch up.  Drills, doggy paddle, sidestroke, freestyle, kick sets... it alllll counts.  I promise you don't have an excuse that can trump my issues of late.  Wait... I'm not sure that's actually something I want to "win" at .  DOH!

C'mon team!  We can do it!  Whether you are at, above, or below your goal, swim, swim, swim.  Every yard/meter helps.  Let's make a concerted effort to inspire those who are lagging a bit on their distances/times, particularly if they aren't posting here (in case they aren't reading the encouragement we're providing within the thread).

Oh, and P.S.,  Thanks again for the positive thoughts, vibes and whatever dances Kendra and Beth were doing.
