Crazy! Was this on your new wheel set? Pinch flat? My husband and I just got new wheels and tires. Both of us ended up with pinch flats on the first ride. I had a second later that week. His tire actually blew during the last race.

Check your tire very, very thoroughly.  I was getting flats EVERY time I rode the trainer for a while.  Kept patching the tube, couldn't find anything unitl one day... HELLO... piece of metal jammed right in the tire wall.

Yeah....we did a thorough check of it last night.

I've ridden on the new wheel set twice before...so it was a bit odd that this happened on the third ride.

Although I did notice that there was no rim tape. Not sure if that could've been part of the reasoning.

What is a girl to do?  My son had tubes placed yesterday so he is home today, run planned today, was going to put him in the jogger... but it is raining with occasional thunder/lightning (unusual weather for us!) Swimming will probably be canceled because of the unusual weather. Can't train sat, going to a ladies retreat... hubby going surfing after work, yeah I hope it stops lightning by then.  Send good thoughts that something opens up for me to get some training in today!!!!!!!

Your guess is as good as mine.

My coach was a bit surprised but mentioned that not all wheel sets require rim tape. I've yet to ride outside, but I'm hoping to get out this weekend since it's actually supposed to be relatively nice.

Even those wheels have the opening for the valve stem.  I can see how a trainer might wear that spot into a pinch or chafe point.  A tiny strip of rim tape over the valve hole can work.

hi Bill!

Well hello!  Didn't know there were any onions awake, and I'm soon to be one of the sleeping ringers.  Run, swim, work, drive, sleep, get pictures taken for wedding stuff, crawfish, sleep, drive, run.  That's my Friday though Sunday plans.  What's the weekend looking like for everyone?

Hm. You're a tough one. Then again, you ARE burning a cute little Peep at the stake....
