as much fun as i'm having hanging out here all by myself, i think i'll go get dressed for a run. not a long one, training plan says 30 minute run on there, but i usually end up going between 2.5 and 3.5 miles, so we'll see just how many MINUTES that takes me. i'm not loving this plan with it's minutes instead of miles, it's a weird plan. it's exactly the same every week, the only thing that changes is the long run. so it's
30 min run
30 min run
easy walk
long run (this week i'm up to 5)
the long runs go up to the whole 26 miles, but the rest of the plan NEVER changes. i might be looking for a different plan soon. since the marathon i want to do isn't until the end of june. i guess i have time. maybe i'll just do this plan until spring, then START a regular marathon 8 week plan. hmmm oh well

What marathon are you planning to run?  I would like to do Seattle at the end of June....I will do a Pfitzinger training plan....I did it for my last marathon and felt very prepared and well-trained!.....miles, not minutes!

I'll have to look at that.  I think I decided to do a full marathon on May 3.  Yikes!

I am doing a 1/2 mary that day in Allentown, PA....you should come down for it!.....where is your marathon?

Providence.  I'm still not 100% sure I am going to do the full.  It is way intimidating!  I don't know if I have the time for a 20 mile training run with Bryan going out to sea so much.  We'll see.

I'd love to come down to PA.  I haven't been since the 4th of July!  I have family in Allentown.

It would be fun....Susie  is doing the same 1/2 marathon.....she lives there!

I thought I remember Susie saying that she was doing it in the Oct challenge.  I need to check Bryan's schedule and see if he'll be here to watch the kids for a few days....

We talking the temperature? or my relationships???

I hear ya - always seems like spring and fall just are way too short. But I prefer cold running over the heat and humidity. At least with cold you warm up. With the heat, I just melt into the pavement like ooze.

i'm doing seattle at the end of june. there are a couple other bt-ers doing it as well. probably a lot more than i know of. you should do it, i think it'll be fun. we're talking the rock n roll right?
ok where do i find a pfitzinger plan? i figured i'd stick with this one for now (it's a 30 week job) and then like 8-16 weeks out switch to a more serious plan. just building fitness and endurance for now.

Yeah I blinked and winter was here.  I'm gaining a new love for running in the cold and I agree it sure beats the heat.  The goal this winter is to avoid the treadmill at all costs.  we'll see how that goes when the sub-zero highs roll in

Ouch!  I had a couple of close calls with the icy sidewalks yesterday.  I can't believe how many people don't clean them.  Isn't it like a city ordinance or something?

I agree.  I tend to pass out if I get to hot (really,  it's bad) so I am learning to enjoy the cold.  I really like it so far.  I never thought I'd say that!  Of course, the low I've run in is about 20ish so we will see what I have to say in a few months!

ebshot - 2008-12-06 7:03 PM Speaking of wine.....anyone drinking tonight? I'm not. Yet. Kids are still up. I like to wait until they are all snug in their beds before I get my wine on. That way I can totally relax and enjoy the quiet and wine.

At the risk of sounding like an alcoholic......yes. I'll try and keep it just a couple of glasses though. I have an early morning date with the pool

Heh! I'm only having a few glasses too. I'm out after that! Probably for the best. I don't need all those empty calories!

Plans changed last night.  I had a few friends stop over and someone decided it was a good idea to play drinking games like we were college again.  Big mistake!

I missed my date with the pool but got on the trainer to work off the fogginess.

No drinking for me tonight!  Headed to bed early tonight.  I haven't slept much the past few nights and I'm tired.  Besides, I need a good night sleep before my fight tomorrow with Cole's school!

Yeah it was in the teens yesterday with a stiff wind.  I'm still trying to figure out how to layer correctly.  I was freezing for the first ten minutes but was burning up at the end of my run.  It is definitely taking some getting used to.

I hear that.  Trial and error here too.  Maybe I'll figure it out before spring!

Edited cause I messed up the quotes.

LOL! Nice! At least you still got on the trainer!

No drinking for me tonight! Headed to bed early tonight. I haven't slept much the past few nights and I'm tired. Besides, I need a good night sleep before my fight tomorrow with Cole's school!

Yeah good luck with that tomorrow.  It sounds frustrating.  You would think the schools would be all over looking out for your kid.  Sometimes I wonder just what the hell some people are thinking.  Are they too self-absorbed to worry about the well-being of others?

Anywho, keep up the good fight and your kid will get what he deserves eventually

jrcody - 2008-12-07 7:58 AM Hey, Hey .... went from one extreme to the other;
We talking the temperature? or my relationships??? I hear ya - always seems like spring and fall just are way too short. But I prefer cold running over the heat and humidity. At least with cold you warm up. With the heat, I just melt into the pavement like ooze.

Yeah I blinked and winter was here. I'm gaining a new love for running in the cold and I agree it sure beats the heat. The goal this winter is to avoid the treadmill at all costs. we'll see how that goes when the sub-zero highs roll in

I agree. I tend to pass out if I get to hot (really, it's bad) so I am learning to enjoy the cold. I really like it so far. I never thought I'd say that! Of course, the low I've run in is about 20ish so we will see what I have to say in a few months!

Ooooh quotes again?  Dang!
