Morning guys!  I'm feeling pretty good today.  If I can get my blistered foot into my cleats, I'm gonna play my softball game tonight.

Back to tri training tomorrow???

I'm almost done with the Race Report.  It took my all afternoon to write and it is LONG.  So, when I do get it posted, grab some coffee or beer/wine (if it is the evening) and settle in for a long read.

Are you saying there is something wrong with beer/wine in the afternoon or morning?

Either way I'm looking forward to a good read.

Good morning!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  I've been in a bit of a funk.  I did yesterday's run this morning, and updated the spreadsheet.

Not really, but I'm glad I did it.  I just checked the 10-day forecast and they are predicting sunny 80s for Saturday.  That makes me a bit more motivated to race.

That will be nice.  That's a lot better than all the rain you've been getting recently.

Today is a rest day but my coach gave me the option to do a short open water swim so I did! I love that I can walk 5 minutes and be in the lake where my IM will be. It was my first time in that water so I was a little nervous. It's weedy heading out (ick...) and there is a lot of algae this time of year but it was ok. I need to acclimate to lake water, I'm an ocean girl! There was some chop/current so it was good practice even if short.

The bigger training kicks in starting tomorrow! If all happens as planned, I may hit 20 hours this week!

Remember that old movie Swamp Thing? That's the sort of stuff that runs through my mind in a lake. And the algae was foul, the water looked like it was filled with little pearls and all I could think about was how much I was ingesting!

That's funny!  I think about the movie Jaws when I'm ocean swimming.

Wow, Erica!  You did awesome!  And your race report made me cry.  Congratulations on finishing despite the challenges life threw at you.

(I guess it's time to stop whining and get my act together for Saturday.  If you can do a HIM, I can get through my sprint.) Wink

Yeah, lakes are just nasty.  I actually swam through a bunch of weeds at the turnaround point of my HIM last weekend.  For the life of me I couldn't figure out what the heck they were doing way out there.

And the lake I swam in for my second tri this year was awful.  It left a nice green coat on all of the competitors.  Yuck!

Some of them might. But I'm betting that most of them won't.

Slugger - 2009-06-22 3:57 AM Um, hi? So, I last caught up with you guys on page 36. In the last thread. I have decided I am not going to try to catch up. I would guess you have discussed wine, beer, food, post padding, running (a little), Erica's MOST AWESOMEST JOB at Patriot, and how fantabulous BTers are at races/trainings. Did I cover most of it? Oh, and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of tasers/tasering. That's because I'm not sure Dee is capable of having a post without mentioning tasers, and Dee likes to post just a wee bit.

I had a faboo weekend - hard run on Saturday followed by a hard walk on Sunday (trying to not run two days in a row, grr!!). Very excited about that. I've put my BFF on the no-excuses cause, so it is now her assigned duty to make sure I get 30 minutes of someting every day. Yay!

I also discovered that beer has calories. This distresses me a great deal. I *must* lose weight. I think that means I have to stop drinking the wonderful bright freakin' red Wacko. *sigh* [a small tear rolls down Slugger's cheek]

I think that is all we really do talk about, food, beer, maybe a little bit of tri talk but really, it's all about the food and drink!

And tasers. Don't forget the tasers.

Well gee. I was about to go read it.

But if it's going to make me cry, maybe I'd better wait until tonight.

Then again, if I start crying, I can just taser myself. I'll bet that will make me stop crying. (Or maybe give me something else to cry about... LOL)
