Gonna have to get with Cat to verify, but I'm gonna bail on the challenge.  To much going on and 5 and 6 mile trainer rides are a waste of my time and I can't fit much more in right now.

Wedding on Saturday afternoon in NH, followed by another night of camping post-party.  The reception is part pot-luck, so my bf and I have to cook vegetarian greens for ~50 people tonight to bring with us tomorrow.  I think if we get that done tonight, I may be able to squeeze in an hour ride tomorrow morning before we head north.  I'm hoping the lake we're camping at (Mascoma Lake) is swimmable so I can have a quick dip on Sunday morning.  If it's more of a fishing hole, we'll get a boat and float for a while before heading back to Boston.

Should be another relaxing weekend with little time for training.

Yay! Thanks Dee!!!

Even more disturbing than that pic I just sent you... this may have been the last time I ate a milano. The below picture was a cake I made for my bf's "Re-birthday Party". The orange milanos were cut in half and dipped in milk chocolate to make the tombstones (other than that big candle in the middle). I know... twisted. But, he loved it!

rebirthday cake
Uh. I'm not sure I would have eaten those particular milanos.... Something about the headless bodies, and all the "blood"..... LOL, you're right. This is more disturbing than the picture you sent me! LOL

blood = raspberry sauce made from fresh raspberries from my friend Max's garden except for some cake decorating gel to write his name on the top next to his "body"
zombies= marzapan and food coloring
dirt around gravestones+ bottom of cake= crushed oreos

Other than the candle, it was all edible and quite delicious! Far less offensive than that cat box cake that someone posted in Taser Running! YUK!

That's.......ummmmmmm........interesting.  So did it actually get eaten?

Oh, yes... all from scratch, no box mixes-- it was delicious!  And in slices it looked like a normal cake... much less gruesome than Red Velvet.  And there were some marzapan lovers that actually ate nearly all the um... body parts.

running4beer - 2009-07-09 7:28 AM Off to get fitted for orthotics this morning!  I'm excited for happier knees but not terribly excited for ~$300 less in my bank account.  These things better help!

I'm riding to the doc's and riding to the office after which is only about 4.5 or 5mi, I think... probably too short to count toward TdF.  I mean... technically it'd be ok, but prob not worth it.

I think 15 minutes is the minimum for a stage.  So you could count it.

But I'm like you.  I'm not counting my commutes unless we get to the end of the month and I need a few extra miles and/or stages

Ok... I counted it anyway.  It ended up being 6 trafficky miles, so I think significant enough.  So now I'm done with a short Stage 3 and 41miles.  I can make up some distance in a long ride soon.  Still debating upping my Stages or Miles goals or both.

That's too bad.  It's probably a good thing to focus on the marathon training though.
