Yesterday afternoon I actually got done the 2 things I wanted to do. We got the fire pit moved from the backyard to the front yard. It's near where we are putting in the stream and pond next spring. We also put some deck rigging on the kayaks.

The boy got home just before 11 last night. We talked a bit, he was up around 6:30 this morning. He had a good time. He caught 2 salmon. He's tired.

That is great Ann.  We have been in the process of putting in a pond in our backyard for the past 3 years.  I hope you get yours done quicker than we have.  Hubby did put the wiring out to it so that we can run the pump, but nothing since then.  Just two big holes in the ground.  I think I will hire someone next spring to finish it for me.  I told him and my son earlier this year that I would love the pond to be done as my birthday gift this year, but since that is only two weeks away, I don't see that happening.  LOL

And we all knew your son would do great on his fishing trip.  Glad that he had a good time.

I just had a crappy run. I should have gotten up and gone in the yard and done some productive work instead. Sigh....

The foot and ankle are mildly pissed off, but not too bad. I was slow and it was humid.

Game night was fun.  We are setting up a group on Facebook and will be planning regular game night roughly every three weeks (based upon my weekend to work since we don't go anywhere those weekends, LOL).  Anyway, so far I have about 7 couples interested in being part of the group.  I figure if we have enough involved, then there should nearly always be someone to play a game with. 

My friend is setting up the Facebook group.  The first name she used was "Fun with Kendra".  I suggested that it should be something different and one the did not make a person think of X rated movies.  Her hubby then suggested:

they do have a similar set up thru meetup.com i meet with other boston terrier owners in the area ~ check out the site..great idea! what games are you playing? just curious what the latest games are...and yes you do know how to pick your friends dont you! (present group excluded of course!!!)

Last night we played Quarriors and then Wits and Wagers.  We also like to play Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Trails to Rails, Power Grid, Mad Gab.  It all depends upon how many people come to play and then if we want to do a big group game or break up into smaller groups.  It will be fun to see how many want to do it on a more regular basis.

I know about MeetUp.  My friends wanted to keep it on Facebook, they felt it would be easier to keep private.  We shall see.

Jules - MRI is this coming Wed, but I won't know the results until the following Tues.

I was some of your votes yesterday.  I try to do some when sitting on the phones at the library.  I did a few more today.  Not sure we can catch up 10K between now and next Sat, but we will give it the good old college try.  Wish I knew of a group of people who had nothing else to do.  Guess the library would get mad if I asked my staff to all do 100 votes everyday for the next 6 days.  That would only be 7200 votes, so I guess I'll tell them they all need to do 200 or more votes.  I can see the headlines now.  Branch Manager fired for using staff for Marathon entry.

Good for you, Kendra.  That is a much better ache to have than just plain old pain!

What is deck rigging for a kayak?

Good morning Ghoulies!

My car wouldn't start this morning. No lights. The engine didn't try to turn over. Nothing. So I'm working from home.

Deck rigging is the straps, or bungee cord on the front and/or back of your kayak. 

On the Prodigy I added bungee cord to the front, blue. There was black bungee cord in the back, I replaced that with blue. I also added a drainage plug to the side of the kayak, right in front of the dry hatch.

One the blue Mist, I replaced the back in the front with blue, then added more blue in the back. 

On the orange Mist, I added black in the back. I told Keri I was going to use black on hers since the black and orange made me thing jack o' lanterns and fall which is my favorite time of the year.

Sometime when I have the kayaks out I'll take pictures.

It looks like it was just the battery. When my husband got up I told him about it and he hooked it up to the charger. He just went out and tried to start it up before he left for work, and it started. He told me to leave the charger on until 7:30, then I could take it off.

I think the Monday I am in Key West I am going to go on a kayak tour of the island. Anyone care to join me?
