Sorry to hear that Bets! RestRestRest, and you'll be back in no time. And, you really won't have lost much at all. So don't sweat it.

I've been hauling myself out of bed before 6:00am to go for bike rides this week. I hate the world for about 15 minutes, and then I feel really excited to be outside.

I've lost access to the university gym now that I've graduated, so I have to wait until I move to Phx for the summer before I can find a new pool.

Was running, and I've kind of transitioned to biking, so I'll try to throw a few runs in the latter part of this week.

And core. Still trying to do situps and pushups after workouts.

Ran Monday and was in the gym today working on upper body and core. 2 weeks until the 10k and my hope is that the heat wave here ends before the run.

hi team; sorry i've been so MIA and l-a-z-y the past 2 wks; i was going through a greuling interview process for a new job and was focusing the bulk of my mental energy in that direction on top of my current job duties. Unfortunately, I didn't get an offer. On the brightside, I'm on some 'alternate' list? Until some things open up in their org after 90 days. I'm not sure how this will play out as my current co. is investing in massive changes, which I'm sure will result in a layoff in the next 2-3 months... plus I'm really unhappy with the way they do business... and want to RUN outta there asap (I'm not alone in this as the 6 others have left for other jobs in the past  few mos). I'm pretty bummed about the new job not working out, as things had gone extraordinarily well with the int. process. The only reason for not hiring me is /was that they felt i lacked experience in the particular market segment they support.... and want a "heavier" hitter in this current role for now. Ugh. I feel like I've only made the JV team... or qualified as a waterboy instead of making the team.    On the brightside I guess... I'll have plenty of time to train once i get laid off once again.

Dana,I was laid off 8 weeks ago and it was the best thing that happened to me...not to mention the severance package was AWESOME.  I'm enjoying my time so much that I've decided to stay home all summer and look for part-time this fall.  I didn't see it as a blessing at first but I firmly believe that things always happen for a reason.  So, focus on taking it one day at a time.

Done. Good luck on your sprint-tri. Remember why we tri...it's because we love it and they are fun!! Relax and enjoy. Running a 10k Saturday and it's still so blasted hot here...hit 100 today! I'm having to get up early to run just to keep from risking heat stroke.

What's up with everyone else?

Ran a 10k this morning so I'm going to skip the upper body today. Completed it in 61 minutes, not my personal best but it was for a good cause. The race was small but organized with only 200 runners.

Taking a day off tomorrow and will start training on Monday for my next Tri on June 22nd. I'll pick up the challenge then.
