D001 - 2008-08-15 11:09 PM Now, if only they'd make prime-time coverage exciting, too..... They need to spend more time showing swimming and biking, and less showing volleyball. Of course, I may be biased....

BIKES!!!

Of course, the road stuff is over and done, and the track stuff hasn't kicked up yet.

Or has it... hmmm... off to investigate.

Well, I didn't get to see much biking (road racing). They *may* have shown it - but not at a time that I was watching.

Of course, when I kept seeing volleyball or boxing, well, I went off to do other things....

I wonder how much track stuff they'll show.

Then again, I'd be happy just to watch Phelps and Lochte 24/7. (Yes, I meant swimming. Some of you have been spending too much time on the Olympic Eye Candy threads.)

One of the stations showed the last group of Time Trialers starting at 4am one day.  I recorded it and rode the trainer with them.  With track and field starting up, I bet we get precious few moments of track cycling, but maybe they'll have it on USA, CNBC, or MSNBC.

I have really enjoyed oggling watching Stehpanie Rice.

Spokes - 2008-08-16 12:59 AM I rode 52 miles in 100F heat today, including 2 climbs of 7 percent grades at the midpoint. NOT smart. I think I rode the last 15 miles in the early stages of heat stroke - rapid breathing and heartbeat, but I made it home. I'm OK, it was just a little scary (and stupid on my part). I won't start a ride any later than 8:00 in the morning if its going to be 100 like it was (I started riding at almost 11:00).

On the plus side, just broke 2,000 miles cycling for the year

Man the water is LOW at Folsom Lake. Took pictures, but I'll put 'em up later.

Heh... well, I shouldn't laugh, but yeah I've been there.  I'm glad church youth groups have car washes to raise money because my bottles were bone dry on a ride earlier his summer.

Nice mileage!

Wow...

Men's 20km race walk on USA right now.  And I think they're doing it faster than I can run  Track cycling is on the line up  The men's team sprint.  Don't know when they'll show it.

I've been saying how exciting the coverage has been.  I don't know why you've been going to sleep.

Sleep? We don't need no stinkin' sleep

meh.

I need sleeps.

I'm draggin' (and a bit dragon-lady) this morning because of it.

AHHHHH!

The Olympics TV schedule said that cycling would be shown on USA sometime between 2 AM - 2 PM. (Thanks for narrowing that time down for us.)

So here I am, watching USA which is showing, um, something.... Bored out of my mind, I decided to check out NBC to see what THEY were showing....

Yeah, you guessed it. Cycling was on THERE. I just caught the end of it....

I wish the NBC network would give us a little better clue as to what they're planning to show, and when.

Not a bad morning of coverage.  I completely crashed last night, so no staying up for the keirin.  I hope they make that video available.  So far so good on showing the US basketball on Sat. morning.  That's what I've been up to.

I watched the tennis (doubles) on USA instead.

Then I caught the END of the cycling (men's individual pursuit) on NBC. (Rant posted above.)

I semi-watched rowing while paying bills, but most of my attention was on the bills, since I didn't want to skip a decimal place somewhere.

Hiya Nibbs!  I had a not good run this morning.  I couldn't do the total distance I felt so awful.  I'm going to go out later to get the rest of the distance in.  I know that's not ideal, but I figure it's better than quitting so early and not doing more.

I am currently watching track cycling that I recorded last night. It's pretty cool.

Oh and the track bikes are awesome and a little strange.  There are pretty cool to watch.  I like one of the guys who has a white Bianchi with white wheels.

Unbelievable night in Beijing!  Way to go Phelps!  I feel so lucky to have been able to seen that.  And how bout Bolt?  Perfect name for a sprinter and that was absolutely incredible!  I had read about the final and couldn't wait to see it.  It was even better than I imagined.
