I wonder if there's a finger-equivalent to ITBS. That would really suck for those of us stuck in an office!

Do you like country?  Because if you do I have some that I like, but most people I know don't like country!

BTW - This is a run challenge but I am in the planning stages of a fall trip from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon and back in Mid November.

Anyone interested in joining me?

Oh - on the bike I should say.  Plan to leave Phoenix Friday AM - make GC Saturday afternoon/evening (250 miles or so) - Hang out Sunday morning and head back Sunday-Monday and fly out Tuesday afternoon.

1st week of November is out but I think 2nd is probably best so I can refuel with Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks!

WOW sounds like lots of fun!  Wish I could join you!

I'm relatively new to this whole thing, I did most of my running last year inside on a treadmill, I'd rather not do that if I don't have to. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to wear as to run outside when the weather gets colder? I'm especially concerned on how to keep my feet warm.

thanks

layers is the one thing I recommend! I will put an under armor longsleve, then a warmup jacket/ windbreaker depending on temps and wind. also a hat and gloves...if my fingers are cold it is a tough run!  I don't have issues with the feet...they stay toasty warm!

I wear something very similar..icebreakers long sleeve base, brooks vest, underarmour tights, hats and gloves...I also do not have problems with my feet!

jaxbamf73 - 2009-10-01 7:06 AM Hello TEAM!  Just entered my goal miles for the challenge.....100 miles!  Feel free to stop by my blog and give me a little motivation from time to time as I'm sure I'll need it.  I've never done 100 miles in a month and have averaged about 35 miles for the last few months.  But I have a 70.3 this weekend and start the marathon training on Monday.....

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ON REACHING YOUR GOAL!

100 miles is a lofty goal coming from 35, especially with a 70.3 recovery worked in there.  Be safe and listen to your body.  Take rest if you need it.

Best of luck in reaching the goal!  Have a great race this weekend!

X 2 (or 3 or 4....haven't read the rest of the posts yet)

You could really hurt yourself by increasing your milage so dramatically.  The 10% rule really works well.

You're going to need some R and R after your HIM.

kimk - 2009-10-01 5:45 AM As for music I listen to the I-pod most of the time.  I live in the city and use it to drown out the noise! If I am at the cabin and running the trails then no music just nature! It is my favorite place to run! Just wish it wasn't 4 hours away!

cabin.....sounds like many of us have cabins...any others?

time to do a cabin swap!

I don't have a cabin, but if any of you want to invite me to yours I wouldn't say no!

disturbed275 - 2009-09-30 5:08 PM Well, I'm off to the grocery store.  I hope they don't have Halloween candy out yet otherwise I won't be able to resist grabbing a couple of bags of something.  I blame you all

Somehow I managed to resist their sweet siren call.  The bakery fresh pumpkin bars though, well that's a different story......

Im intrigued....pumpkin bars!?

I like pumpkin...

At a local deli they had Pumpkin Butter.  I should have bought it to see if it was any good - maybe this weekend!

My DW makes a delicious Pumpkin Roll - yummy!

Speaking of Pumpkin - Thanksgiving is coming - YES!!!

It's odd I LOVE pumpkin baked good but don't like pumpkin pie!

I thought of that right after I posted. With the keyboard I have to use, it probably is only a matter of time until I get carpal tunnel. Grr...
