Artemis - 2009-11-09 9:40 AM Hmmm...everyone is quiet again!  I know we're all supposed to be at work and all, but that's no fun!

Time for a challenge thread mini-poll:

1) Which is your favorite (S, B, R)?

2) What is your favorite thing to eat after a race?

Tough questions!

I am going to have to say that biking is my favorite, although running is a very very close second.

Hmmm, favorite post race meal.  Whatever is at the food tent.  I am really fond of the pizza they serve at a local series of races here though

mndymond - 2009-11-07 12:53 PM Hey Team! Just powered through a 10km'er! WOOOOOO!!! New runners and all! Fantastic!

My fantasticly EPIC playlist included: some Bon Jovi, some Phil Collins, some Lady Gaga, some MACARENA!!!! and other 90's dance tunes! Haha

Nice job Melissa! My playlist today was Trivium, but I'm weird like that.

I got a little over 3 done today and I have 5 on tap for tomorrow. Yay for Hal's plans!

I must be weird too.  I like to throw a little Trivium on the old playlist from time to time

Nice to know I'm not alone!

I actually got to see them in concert last year when they opened for slipknot.  They put on a hell of a show too.

I'm jealous! I haven't been to a concert in a LONG time. I DID get to see Slipknot back in high school before they were even signed, which was cool. American Headcharge opened for them.

Hal Higdon's plans are really good.  What distance are you training for right now?  Sorry if I missed that before.

I'm training for the Carlsbad Half Marathon on Jan 24. It'll be my first HM. My longest recorded run ever at this point is 6.5, so I'm a bit nervous but really excited at the same time.

You will do great Tom!

Thanks Kim!

Artemis - 2009-11-08 4:32 PM No workouts for me today, but I did spend a couple of hours cleaning my house.  If only I had a goal for that.
Well, it *is* a "You pick the goal" month. So you *could* set a house-cleaning goal.....

I might have to set a house cleaning goal.  That's the only way it would get done for me.  Telling myself that it can wait until next weekend can only last so long.

That's usually what I do.  However, having people come over is a great motivator and doesn't let you put it off anymore.

Amen to that. In laws and landlords are the best motivators

I just went back to read some earlier posts... 2nd place Gabbers... not bad! I wasn't able to exercise today, so I'm going to try and double up a couple times this week. So my goal over the next 4 days is to get in 2 swims, 2 bikes and 2 runs and have them be at least 30 min each. LLLLET'S GET RRRRRREADY TO RRRRRRUMBLE!!!

Hubby's doing better--went back to work today and refused to let me drive him in. He was even so stubborn as to take only tylenol and motrin for the pain during the night so i wouldn't have a reason to overrule him. He was so pleasant to be with this weekend that I threatened to schedule him for surgery every couple months, just as a sort of reset button for his mood. LOL. *kidding. I would never do anything like that* Mwahaha...

HI Gobblers!!

Sorry I've been absent lately... work got REALL crazy with a new POS software system....  That's point of sale, though the other acronym option is very applicable as well.

KOM - 2009-11-09 7:24 AMHi Team!  Glad to hear you all had a nice weekend.  It is a gloriously sunny day here today.....kinda bummed I am teaching spin tonight and swimming.....I'd rather be outside.  Just talked to my in-laws in Destin Cheri-they just put the storm shutters away and are pulling them out this morning.  Hope Ida is a big miss for y'all.  I am doing Jorge's wk 1 Q1 tonight.  He posts the workouts kind of late so I find it easier to trail a week behind.  I have a couple playlists up on my blog from last week and will put another up there today.  Have a good one everybody!
That's more or less what I did today. A shortened version of Jorge's W1 Q1 workout.

Time for a challenge thread mini-poll:

1) Which is your favorite (S, B, R)?  I think probably biking- I love to just crank it and go as fast as possible. I also like swimming in the ocean-good thing for a resident of the ocean state! I am a very poor runner and really struggle with it.

2) What is your favorite thing to eat after a race?
well, first it would be real food and after that probably a burger with something great on top like blue cheese and bacon.

And I am excited. My bike and I have a long history of not really liking each other, but we are currently on speaking terms, so it should be good. (Heather has had alot to do with the current positive state of the relationship I have with my bike. As a matter of fact f it weren't for her, I probably would have given up before I even dd my first tri, all because of the bike. Thanks, Heather! ) Now, whether I'll be able to sit comfortably at the tri club banquet on Thursday night is a whole other story, LOL.

1) I thought it would be swimming, since I grew up on a swim team. But I have to say that I really have come to love RUNNING. I am looking forward to upping my mileage again this winter when I get to start my half mary training plan. I have a love-hate relationship with the bike. (see my last post...) 2) ANYTHING that is greasy and not good for me. Cheeseburger, enchilaladas, etc. Of course, I have some good post-race munchies at the finish line first so I don't have to feel tooo guilty.

I was planning on biking today, but I had to shuffle around workouts because of some other things going on this week.  I did do a strength workout today, so at least I did something.  I'll do the bike workout tomorrow.

Good evening Gobblers! Another Monday in the rearview, thank goodness. I had to bump my ST workout to tomorrow, so I'll get it in after my run. Not sure if I'll sneak it in before my morning appointment or after the afternoon one, but I'll get it in there. I hope everyone's doing well!

I got another swim in last night and might be heading there again tonight depending on how late I work.

I also need to restart jorge's plan.  Nice weather derailed me last week.
