Gary M - Bib 566 (Relay team).

Alright folks I need a little encouragement.  Earlier this week my daughter came down with something, puking, etc.  Well last night I got it only worse.  Puking, uncontrolled shivers, other things I won't mention.  Really took me out of it, lying in bed shivering.  Feeling better today and the puking is gone and shivers are under control.  Managed to eat two biscuits this morning but still feel like food is evil and I would be better off if I never ate again.  Less than a week to the race.  I am officially falling apart.

Fortunately you're in taper mode so you can afford to miss a few days if you must miss them at any time.

How long was your kiddo sick? Hope she's feeling better!

Thanks Dan,
My daughter is better.  She came down sick late Thursday night.  Spent most of Friday sleeping and was almost 100% on Saturday.  I suspect I will be almost 100% tomorrow so hopefully, except for a bit of weight loss that I needed anyhow, I should be ready to go by Tuesday.

Even if you don't want to/can't eat try to keep the fluids going....I think that's much more important then food---especially when you are talking "only" a couple of day illness.  You'll be fine for the race though!

Cleaned up the bike and put on my Wheel Builder Aero Jacket.  If it doesn't help on the speed at least it looks good!  Changed out my cables and lube the fork and seat post.  I also added a Hawk Bottom bracket which I been thinking about for a while.  She is already to do

Nice looking ride!

I cleaned mine up today, but I still have to lube and make several adjustments.  Getting excited...

Gosh, hope you're feeling better soon.  It isn't the worst time to get sick (assuming you're back on your feet in the next few days), but not the best time either (not sure there is a 'best' time).  x2 on keeping the fluids in if at all possible.

I'm #271.

I noticed in your picture the other day you had the Felt B12 as well!   I saw where you signed up for IM Florida.  Congratulations!

Wow, sweet bike!

Feeling a tad bit better and hopefully will be back to normal by tomorrow.  I was supposed to clean up my bike today for shipping on Tuesday (one of the guys on the relay team is driving and will take my bike).  Will have to do that tomorrow.

Woo hoo! All the weather forecasts seem to be converging on partly/mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60's for race day (and lows in upper 40s for night before). It will be a little chilly getting on the bike wet, but not bad!

Friday morning 7:00 am
swim - Blockade Runner hotel, across the street at the channel.

There are some other swim times on Thursday but I'm not going to be there for them so I don't have them in my todo planner.

(edit) I took the address out of your post to keep it from being too confusing.

If the forecast stays like that it would be absolutely perfect! Let's hope. Gotta start getting serious about what to pack in which bag soon!

I. AM. SO. READY. TO. GET. THIS. OVER.

Enjoy this, take it all in.  They don't occur very often, and when you are done, you will wonder what the hell you are going to do now. :-)

Good luck to all of you. I did the half mary this past weekend. Great weather for a half mary, but wouldn't want to do a tri in it. 37 at the start and wind 10-12 with higher gusts.  I have conflicting feelings about doing a HIM this late in the season because of cold weather. I don't race well in the heat but seem to do better in the colder temps. I JUST HATE BEING COLD! Planning to do a HIM next year, just trying to figure out which one to do.

Yeah I'm not happy in cold temps either although I am sure I am faster.  I did my bike ride in 40-50 temps on Sunday and was not happy at all, especially with the winds.

Do we have any idea what the water temp is yet?
