Shawn, I have the same struggle. If I don't get it done before work, it usually doesn't happen. While I can sometimes manage a workout in the evening, I am usually mentally exhausted and I find that the most challenging. So, I've made myself a morning person. I'm usually up before 5am and can manage an hour workout before heading to the office. This doesn't really work for biking, unless on the trainer. Hence, I'm usually light on my bike training.

5AM?! I'd have more luck staying up to 5 than getting up then.... maybe that's why I don't work out more, lol - I wait too late at night & we'd be into the next day if I added more! We (daughter & I ) tried running one morning at the ungodly (to us ) hour of 8 or 9, and not sure which hated it more. I think we could probably suck it up & possibly get used to it, but wasn't worth the major whining from her...swimming once/week at 8am, or biking once/week at 9 still seem way early to me. Too bad all the races are scheduled for dawn vs. dusk.....I admire y'all for being able to consistently get up that early & do it. |
