deehtz - 2010-05-11 8:57 AM Hi everyone!  I have not been working out the last several days.  I have been reclaiming our junk room as a guest room!  Believe me, that has been work if not a workout.  I notice that I actually feel more aches and twinges (especially knees and feet) when I am NOT working out than when I am.

My company arrives tomorrow so who knows what the coming week will bring for workout time!  Just know that my fellow Ghoulie's are not forgotten!  I shall return!  Smile

Have a great week and thanks for the head's up!

We get concerned when our ghoulies missing

I've got a what-would-you-do scenario for you guys. There's a free Aquathlon on base next month (500 yd swim, 5k run) that I'm interested in doing, but it's only 2 days before my almost-Oly tri. Would you guys do it???

I'm sure it would be a good practice run with a mass start and transition area, but I'm nervous I woundn't be able to hold myself back on a 5k run that close to race day. Any advice is appreciated!

Free?  You betcha I'd do it!  And I wouldn't hold back on that 5k either

Hopefully you can exercise some self control though.  The experience will be worth it.

Thanks guys. You've just enabled convinced me to go for it! It's on my calendar now

Hello Ghoulies! It sure is quiet in here this month. Is it the stretching that is scaring everyone away?

givemashot - 2010-05-10 12:53 AM Yep, even with the TV on to JackA** 2.5 I caught up in a matter of a few minutes. Now to convince the hubby toturn this crap off. I can never unsee what I just saw. Blech.

let me tell you a little story about jackazz.....
hubby was being deployed to Iraq and I flew to Co to see him before he left(involuntary transfer to Ft Carson) So I am thinking we would spend some *time* together but they were not allowed to leave the base and there were 3 other guys in is room...ok get your mind out of the gutter village..... so they thought it would be a great way to spend our last few hours watching this absolute brainyack movie! I was sooooo pizzed! To this day I hate it! They (the guys) thought it was just too funny and couldn't understand why the wives were not happy!
So now every time it comes on my hubby will say ....ohhh hunny come watch! Still don't find it funny after 6 years!

that is a pain when they are getting ready to ship out and can't even spend time alone with a spouse. And then to spend it watching a movie like that, ugh!

One problem is the wireless isnt working properly...so only my BB right now!! Hopefully its just a temporary thing! I would like to have internet on my computer! Fingers crossed!!! But uyaaaaaa Victoria. My bike got here, ill have to build it tomorrow. Learning experience...

Hope you get it all put back together!  It's not too bad once you have done it a few times.  I just reassembled mine last night.

I've never had to disassemble and reassemble my bike. I'd have to take a class. I'm a princess and let my prince take care of it for me. Both the pedal and motor bikes.

Used my gymboss today on the eliptical and it made a difference. I didn't have to watch the time or keep track of when to change. Double beep - speed up, single beep - slow down. It was so easy. Maybe I'll eventually learn to run.

Hey Ghoulies.
YUCKY day today. We need the rain but it is gray and COLD and I am whiney. That and I took my car in and it won't be ready until tomorrow at 11:00 and I have meetings at 11:00 here in town (car is 25 miles away) and then I have to leave for Raleigh directly after the meetings at 5:00. So I am going to have to be late for the meetings.
And I have a raging headache from the change in weather.
AND Ann(e) is AWOL!

I never heard of one. I just "binged" it. That would be handy for training workouts for sure. I am bad for mis-counting.

Yes Kendra And don't worry, with this being only 2 days before a tough race, I will not be going all out. The biggest thing I'm excited for is transition practice in the real world.

Yes, real world is definately different from the practice world. My first race for this season is on June 5th. When we come out of the water we have about a 1/4 mile run with a horrible hill and stairs to manuver before we even hit the transition area. I kept telling myself that I would not do the race again, but my son is doing it as his first tri this year, so I said I would go and do it also. Mind you, he is in shape, I am not. I get to start with the first group (the seasoned triathletes) and he will start in the next group (15 minutes later) with the first timers and my goal is that I finish the bike before he passes me. I know he will fly by me in the run since I'm just a fast walker. LOL

Kendra, glad you are busy and open for business.  Our library blew up...actually blew up.  Some type of underground electrical malfunction that sparked and caused an explosion.  So if you ever smell rotten eggs or see smoke, make a run for it.  Unfortunately a beautiful old historic building was badly damaged and our town is minus a library for the near future. Most importantly though, no one was hurt.

Spring fever is a good thing.  It means we are all outside training or lounging by the pool/beach/whatever.
