I just had a health check at work....and my cholestrol is pretty high, enough to need to look at it and have a follow up with the GP...

Whoops!

The good news is I havent had it checked for 1.5-2 years, basically its gone up since Ive been sick this time around and eating lazy, not exercising and managing way too high stress levels!

Anyone else dealt with high cholestrol before?

Overall the news is pretty good... I have great blood pressure, sugar levels etc and he has put a the main things I need to change really simply:

- Now Im healthier work up to 30 minutes gentle exercie 5 times a day (incidental is fine as long as it raises my HR)

- Stress: I have to get a handle on the high level of stress at work, home, commute because its not healthy to sustain

- Diet: Get rid of the processed meals from my diet (sausages, nuggets, schnitzel etc) as well as deep fried, creamy and high fat but dont need to make major changes yet beyond that... increase fruit to 2 pieces per day and vegies to 5 minimum and takeaway once a week is fine

Now if he can just find me an extra hour in the day to go to the gym and a personal chef to prepare me nice healthy meas my life would be great.

Any ideas? Its given me a bit of a fright! (Im so used to worrying about my tummy I kind of hoped everything else would take care of itself!)

Ok Nibbs, the real reason I haven't been saying much or been around much is that I'm pregnant!  I've been feeling like crap and I'm pretty sure several of you would have figured it out if I said too much!  I'm due at the beginning of December.  I'm still allowed to run and, for now, ride my bike.  Of course, swimming is fine.  I'm just hoping I have more energy soon to do it all!

I want a personal chef too! Wouldn't that be awesome? Come home and dinner would be ready.

Actually, I also need an extra hour in the day specifically for working out, too.... Hm. Usually, I just end up sleeping less, and that's not really the best way to go....

I hear ya... Iveb een awake since 3:30am....

I honestly believe in this situation sleep is more important than exercise but the way my life has been going its been not enough sleep, too much stress, not enough time in the day, no energy etc so I think maybe its time for an overhaul!

Ha!  Most people ignore the feeling like crap part.  My mother in law keeps asking why I'm not more excited.  Don't even get me started...  Foot in mouth
