Good morning, Robin!

I was just reading about the weather heading your way. STAY SAFE!!!

I was talking to the guy who takes care of the soccer fields last night while my son was at practice. He told me then that there wouldn't be any home games on Saturday. An email went out about an hour ago from the commissioner of the league saying the home games were cancelled this weekend because the fields were still swamps.

My team has practice tonight, only our second. We will try to find someplace to practice. They will get muddy, but the good thing is that they are all waterproof.

They allow practice on a field but not a game?  Or do you practice on an area that is not actually a soccer field?

We don't practice on the soccer fields. The fields lay low and have stayed wet. There is some grassy area that sits up on a hill in the park that most people have been practicing on. It is muddy, too, but not as muddy. Plus if we tear that area up it's not a big deal, if we tear the fields up they will be torn up for the rest of the season.

There is concern too, especially with the older kids, that kids could get injured. If you have a competitive game going on in the mud where kids have been losing shoes left and right you run the risk of injuring a knee or ankle. No on wants the kids to get hurt.

I get it now!  Good luck finding a dry enough spot for practice.  I bet the kids get hosed down after practice before they can come in the house!  LOL  or at least the moms wish they did

I had a blanket in the car I made my son sit on last night on the way home. He took his cleats off in the garage and headed straight for the shower.

I was going to run this afternoon, but it is wet and chilly out.  Tomorrow it is supposed to be sunny and just a little rain for the next several days.  So I think my run is going to wait until tomorrow.

The Gettysburg marathon is May 1st. I signed my son and I up to volunteer. We are going to be working packet pickup on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The guy asked if we could work at the packet pickup from 6:00 to 10:00 on Sunday morning. The race starts at 7:45 so I'm not sure how busy we'll be after that.

HI!

So, that was fast. The drywall is all up, in one hour. Now back to the waiting game for the finish guys to come tape/texture... which really is kinda mostly ok, because we couldn't decide ona carpet, and it'll be anywhere from 2-4 weeks before the carpet gets picked out and arrives. It's just super exciting to have something happening with the reconstruction FINALLY.

Happy FFFF evening Ghoulies

Well, The grocery store was closed for a roof leak or some such. I could have gone in town but I didn't so I am not going back just for groceries.

Hardware store(S) didn't have what I was needing

So I got a mani-pedi and came home for a nap.

OOPs! Day got away from me. I'll double up tomorrow on workouts- to avoid calking and paint scraping if nothing else.

Have happy evenings all!

I know it's the weekend, but you guys did such a great job this morning that I need to ask for more juju.

My brother is a motorcycle mechanic and a tire exploded on him this evening. My sister called to tell me he was in the ER. It banged up his knee pretty good, it's swollen and he can't bend it, they're doing x-rays. He also ripped up a couple of fingers pretty bad and they aren't broken, but he may need surgery. Apprently when it exploded it lifted him completely off the ground and dropped him, so they are x-raying his neck and back, too.

Morning!

A lovely day of driving rain and tornado watches and flooding streams.

Ahh! Spring in the mountains.

Kendra- are you okay down there? The storms looked vicious there.

Hi Robin!

How have things been down there?

We've had wind up here and it just started raining. We are supposed to get strong storms tonight, but nothing like you guys are getting in the south.

I was lucky.  The worst of the storms were to the north and south of me.  My neighborhood got a lot of rain and wind, but we did not get the really bad lightning and hail.  We were in tornado watch and then warnings for most of the night.  It looks nice outside right now, I want this wind to blow all the pollen away.  My allergies are killing me.
